Loll so any criticism of BMW makes me a Mercedes fanboy? Come on, stop living life with such a black/white mindset.

I only feel Mercedes has a leg up on BMW with the S-class and C-class (but only b/c the 3er is old now), otherwise I'm still partial to BMW.

You’d lose that bet. That’s not how NFC works. You have to hold the phone up to the car just like you have to hold it up to the reader to pay for groceries. The purpose of having it on the car is for people who don’t want to carry a key around, or lose/forget their key.
They should have used BT LE (Bluetooth low energy)

I honestly have a hard time understanding what this competes with in the first place. Perhaps Aston Martin/Bentley? A gran coupe variation would then compete with the AMG GT and Panamera. My main issue is that the interior isn't luxurious enough, and even though the car is nice it doesn't look exclusive enough. We need a moveable spoiler with matte paint finishes, OLED tail lights, and carbon fiber parts. We need the car to make us feel special with a start up similar to the Audi A7 and Lincoln Navigator. We need a move immersive interface from the interior of the car; the radically shaped screen with digital gauges isn't enough. *sigh.*
You say it "sure isn't an S-Class coupe competitor", and then ask if it's a Bentley or Aston competitor, while saying it doesn't look exclusive enough. Compared to what? The S-Class coupe looks just like a C and E coupe. How "exclusive" does that make it look? If you replaced the kidney grilles on the M850 with the Aston mouth grille it could easily pass for an Aston, that's pretty nice company to be in. Even the interior is laid out similarly to an Aston. Is it as blingy inside as the S-Coupe? No. But then neither is a 911, and they're luxurious enough while being much more sporty inside. The 8-Series seems the same to me (having never been inside one, neither of us can actually speak to how luxurious it actually is, not that that stops people from making judgements online). And before you fire back with the "the M850 is not a 911 competitor", it's much sportier than the S-Coupe, and according to BMW, 95% of drivers couldn't turn a faster lap in a 911 than the M850 (that's an actual quote from BMW). Initial drive reviews indicate BMW has managed to do something very special -- build a car that is both a true sports car and a comfortable luxury cruiser. A true dual threat, kind of a 911/S-Class Coupe offspring. That's impressive to me, even if it isn't to you.

Pillarless windows, why? That is fine for a car with no sporty pretensions but there's a reason Porsche, Ferrari, etc. don't have them. Removing the B-pillar reduces structural rigidity, so if the only reason to do it is for style sake then I'm glad they aren't.

Regarding the rest of your "needs", not sure why it's a must have but the 8GC might have the "moveable spoiler". If it's not necessary for aero on the coupe I see no reason to add the weight and complexity. OLED lights I agree with you, I wish BMW had put those on to add some visual drama. Matte paint I am certain you can get from the BMW Individual catalog, and the carbon fiber parts are available in the Carbon Package. You can even get a carbon roof. There are pics and video of the orange M850 at LeMans that had this package. It looks amazing (again, my opinion, which may differ from yours).

That BMW ad reminds me of the silly ones Matthew McConaughey did for Lincoln a few years back.

Phones NFC chip wouldn't work at that distance.
