M5 CS Slower On Sachsenring Than The M8C
I'm sure our M5 brethren will call foul in some way and perhaps just a 1 off experience but regardless at least in this test the M8C still is the top dog in the M world.

But honestly when you're up that fast, a minor twitch by the driver can drop a full tenth. Even a extra gallon of fuel can add a .1, before trying to compare apples to oranges. Personally, I think the lower center of gravity will always help the m8 out maneuver the m5. But it's probably such a small difference, it's a not a big factor. https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=27723082 |

It boils down to a single snap shot of that car on that day in that weather. Generally these performance numbers and declarations of “fastest” are trivial marketing and mean nothing on the real world ownership performance on the street. Chest thumping from this kind of marketing is for the inexperienced.
