Sure. Give him a shout and offer your help to teach someone who's been doing it for a while.

Just so you understand, the majority of us in the UK don't always drive in sports. Our roads aren't geared for that.

They do some of the dumbest comparisons. How is an E63s a competitor to the M850 or Tesla 3?

Always talk about pointless drag races. No discussion about real races like the N24. I wonder how BMW is doing...

Is it me or it's fascinating that a base 8 Series is tenths within an electric car and top of line AMG sedan.
Impressive and superbly balanced in terms of drag and track performance ability.

The ///M8 will be shattering. A new standard to coupes. (Excluding super and hyper cars)

The point I was making is all the guys here who complain comfort mode or bad launch etc. It's racing against an e63 with a lot more hp. Than you have the electric car with instant get up and go electric torque. Eventually the 850 caught up to the Tesla due to HP, but for all the guys who was making excuses for the BMW is a laugh. This ain't the M8. The M850i is not suppose to win in this race.
The BMW wins in design though in my opinion.

I am disappointed BMW but in fairness this was not the M8. I think that would be a fairer fight.

There's a clear winner

And it's the Tesla.

The question is, does BMW have something that compares to the Tesla at a similar price range? That would be the M3.

How would it have fared in this race? Current model would have been beaten. Maybe the new G80 could keep up, but will it still be a 65k$ car?

I can understand the scenario, as he explained. Just cruising along and you floor it with the car next to you. Seems fairly real worldly to me . A proper serious race then yeah fine i can understand why you wouldn't.

What i like about these rolling starts is that it also puts the effectiveness of the gearboxes to the test and shows the package as a whole. Not all gearboxes are quick to kickdown.
I can understand that. I just would like to see which car has real better top end power. Even tho it'd clearly be E63, 8, Model 3 I wanted to see how much of a difference it'd actually be. I raced my buddy's 10 speed auto 2019 Camaro ZL1 60-130 and he got me by about 5 cars (as expected). But this looked like the Merc murdered the 8 & got about 6-7 cars on it and the Merc would get demolished on the highway vs a ZL1 so clearly the Merc kicked down faster giving it the jump.
If you watch the race closely you are correct the Merc driver had a much better launch. I also want to see what it would have been in the rolling race had it been in gear and on sport+ to see how much the Merc would be infront. I don't care at all for the Tesla so it's irrelevant to me in this race.
Very irrelevant! Ugly, no sound, plain interior. : To the Merc, also very curious since I know the car can't go into full 2WD like the F90 M5 so it's forced to stay 4WD when doing a 60-130 pass therefore giving it the bigger drivetrain loss like the M850i does. There's an 8 series that did 60-130 in 9.5 seconds so far which is pretty good considering a full 2WD F90 Comp does it in 8.2 & that has a lot more top end with the 100 + HP. I don't keep up much with Benz' times but I think it does it It in around 8.8-9 flat. Wanted to see what the real difference would of been with real driving modes and same weather conditions for both cars. Clicked on that video so fast haha but just got let down

The current Model M3 ZCP would murder that Tesla if you put a proper 305 size tire. Sure it'd get hit hard 0-60+ but around 90mph+ it'd come around and never look back. To the rolling race, the M3 would absolutely obliterate it if they had a fair count down and M3 was in right modes, gear, with enough boost built up. (This rolling race was BS for the Tesla since it has instant kickdown.) it basically got the hit and that's really hard to come around in races especially with cars that make roughly the same power.

Lot of talK about "kick down". That's good if you're in a Auto. Don't be like me and have your M buttons set up in sequential cruising around in fifth sixth or seventh and then a Merc or one of those pesky Mopar's that everyone seems to have nowadays come up beside you and you floor it and absolutely nothing happens because you forgot you were in manual mode.

We know it wouldn't win the race. We'd rather see the actual difference then 6-7 cars, that's hellcat territory, LOL.
