Yeah, I have never driven outside my neighborhood in efficient/comfort mode (and that's only to be courteous to my neighbors by closing the exhaust flaps) but even if folks do, it takes less than a second to change the mode.

Exaclty lol! this is basically the test of "whoever gets the instant kick down wins" pretty pathetic. The 850i would lose to the Merc in the rolling racing but not as bad as seen on that video & it would demolish that Model 3 if it was a proper 50-130 run.

Just pointless 20 second race video.
Honestly embarassing. I might as well start a YouTube & get some expensive cars with real drivers & do real world test results if these guys are that big of a channel :

Above average entertainment value - appreciated! Below average automotive enlightenment value.

Suggestion for a sequel: twin engine Dassault Rafale vs twin engine Tesla Model 3 with an advance warning that Tesla Model 3 might lose because it doesn't have canards in the front.

BMW still wins across many unnamed categories.

Model 3P will rip 60 in 3.1-3.2 seconds.

The Merc does it in 3 flat.

M850i in 3.5.

Given Tesla’ quality and fit and finish, I wouldn’t care if it is 10% of a bimmer’s price.
Secondly, there is your proof: to have ICE engine and transmission with such results is a true achievement.
Every idiot can build a no excitement dead train with a battery and an electric motor. Very few can build a work of art internal combustion vehicle that gives you performance and true feelings.

Such a bad comparison.... E63 AMG must be compated to the same class which is M5.... ofcourse it has 100 more HP and must be faster than M850

I can understand the scenario, as he explained. Just cruising along and you floor it with the car next to you. Seems fairly real worldly to me . A proper serious race then yeah fine i can understand why you wouldn't.

What i like about these rolling starts is that it also puts the effectiveness of the gearboxes to the test and shows the package as a whole. Not all gearboxes are quick to kickdown.

I can understand that. I just would like to see which car has real better top end power. Even tho it'd clearly be E63, 8, Model 3 I wanted to see how much of a difference it'd actually be. I raced my buddy's 10 speed auto 2019 Camaro ZL1 60-130 and he got me by about 5 cars (as expected). But this looked like the Merc murdered the 8 & got about 6-7 cars on it and the Merc would get demolished on the highway vs a ZL1 so clearly the Merc kicked down faster giving it the jump.

If you watch the race closely you are correct the Merc driver had a much better launch. I also want to see what it would have been in the rolling race had it been in gear and on sport+ to see how much the Merc would be infront. I don't care at all for the Tesla so it's irrelevant to me in this race.
