The wait begins.

I put a deposit in for an M850 last week. I received my production number today. Status 111. I'm hoping for a mid-Dec delivery. The daily status checks can begin.

Thanks.

M850 Convertible

Black Sapphire Metallic
Fiona Red/Black Ext Leather
Copper Wood Trim
20" Jet Black Wheels
Driving Assistance Pro Package
M Sport Pro Package
Glass Controls
B&W Sound

BTW, the one thing that bothers me is the black calipers. They come with the M Sport Pro Package and couldn't be de-coupled.

Superb build. Black calipers can be resurfaced in a different color. Has been done before.

Congratulations!

Congrats and beautiful build. You're going to love the Fiona Red/Black interior and the B&W audio. 👍

Thanks. And yeah, I've painted my calipers on previous cars. I didn't want to have to do that with this one. It's a pretty simple mod. If I didn't have the package I'd get the blue calipers I want. They're both listed as M Sport brakes so I don't think there's a size difference just the color.

Thanks. I can't wait to hear the B&W audio. My current car is a Z4 with a similar color scheme. The red is lava red and in certain light it looks almost orange. I'm hoping the Fiona is more of pure red.

There is a tinge of orange to the Fiona Red as well but overall it is indeed red in nearly all lighting conditions. Mostly the orange tinge shows up in photos due to lightning conditions but same real-world view is red.

My order status kept jumping from 111 to 112 and back to 111 a few times. A couple weeks ago it finally went to 150 with a prod date of 11/7. I figured actual prod would start this week to meet the 11/7 build end date. It started moving yesterday and today it's In the Paint Booth. I assume it'll dry over the weekend. I was pleasantly surprised the prod date moved from 11/7 to 11/6. Next week I can start tracking the cargo ships.
My last car took about 5-6 weeks after build to get delivered. That timeframe puts delivery in late December. Fingers crosse.

Cars seem to be sitting in Bremerhaven for 2-3 weeks before they begin transit to US (Brunswick port). I've seen this with others in recent months and I have a 5 series that sat for just shy of 3 weeks before it departed. That car is scheduled to arrive to Brunswick on Tuesday.

I'd say late December to your dealer is a possibility. One slight hiccup and you could be looking at a January delivery.

Thank you for the info. It's good to know. I was targeting mid to late Dec. I really hope it makes it before the end of the year.

That's the other factor in the supply chain shortage, i.e., cargo ships (plenty of them) and dock workers/volume (the constraint). One of my friends is in the import/export game and he's had product stuck on cargo ships in Long Beach for weeks as they can't dock without someone to unload the containers.

Stuck on Quality Checks

I was so excited that my car flew through assembly and was at Quality Checks on Monday. It's been stuck there since.

I've read other threads where it has stuck on that status for a few days to a couple months. Hopefully it's done sooner than later. The end of year delivery isn't looking too promising.

Good luck with your new ride. The OTA's that came w/ID7 are a pain thou. But, I think you will love the M850. I had a F13 650xDrive for 6 years before mine M850 coupe and I'm happy I made the move.

Thanks,
Yes. Unfortunately I made the mistake to not negotiate so I got it at msrp. My negotiation will be with my trade-in. I didn't ask about European Delivery. I assume it's available.
