JB4 OBDII cable

I recently purchased the OBDII cable to add to my JB4 that I am going to install on my 2015 M235I. I am now not sure that I got the right part. I am going to post a pic. My concern is that I have seen pics of the unit that has the connector and on the other end two wires and them a pic of the one that has the larger connector and than a smaller connector on the other end. This is the one I received. Is this the correct cable for the N55? I want to make sure I have all the correct parts when I take it in to have it installed. If this is the right cable how do the old posi tap wires connect to it. Thx

That's the one I have. However my wire harness had a female plug that accepted it.

I would imagine you cut that connector off and splice them to the can wires, but I'll let somebody else chime in on that.

Burger Tuning changed the OBD cable to this version.
All new JB4 come with a female wire harness so they fit this cable

I think he's correct. If you have the old JB4 with the positaps you have to cut the small connector off the OBDII hardness and wire to positaps.

Verify with BMS though.

It should have a lead to tap into your existing Green/Brown wires that the old/original posi-taps were connected to.

Two options:

1) Cut off the small connector from the OBD cable and hard-wire/solder the OBD2 connector wire to your JB4 Harness via the Brown and Green wire(s). Not advisable if you plan to remove your unit often, otherwise a non issue, really.

2) Contact Burger Motorsports and request the pigtail to do it the way it was intended. Which is to tap/solder the pigtail onto your JB4's harness via the Brown and Green wire(s) and delete the old posi-tap configuration.

If all else fails, burn it.

Thanks, if it's really just the same two wires (brown and green) packaged in to the new plug I'll just solderthe new connector on and be done with it
