Where's the oil cooler??

I had the bottom splash guards off and there wasn't an oil cooler where the oil cooler should be in the lower front of the car, facing the ground.

I was under the impression all m850i models had the oil cooler positioned the same as the M8 and M5. Even the Mishimoto m5/m8 oil cooler is supposed to fit the m850 yet .. nothing. So odd!

Does the M850 have the same s63 engine as the M5 & M8? Or does it have one of the N63TU? engine iterations?

If it has the latter…perhaps that’s the reason you don’t see the oil cooler that you see on the M8 & M5.

Most of the ancillary parts on n63 and s63 are the same and or interchangeable. In the case of the oil cooler, it's the same part number and both cars are listed for fitment.

I'm not seeing your model year...but up to the 2019 model year...the M850 & M8 uses a different part nbr...and diagram in the part database. It's not clear what the difference are...they look similar...but they do have a different part nbr:

Thanks for sharing. And ya, the actual oil coolers are interchangeable however it seems most 8 series don't even have that cooler at all nor the trans cooler. I mean, this is outrageous- a car using the same trans as the M line but no cooling to support the car actually being pushed. The 8 series is a time bomb, f this car.

Yes...very interesting...the database doesn't even give any hints like if there's a special option pkg that is required etc.
