Looking at the specs, make it make sense that is M8 power range.

BMW had better be thinking of some next level M Cars.

All the reviews I’ve seen have pegged it as a huge step down from the previous generation. Heavy, disconnected, and pretty terrible driving dynamics.

Mercedes has been putting up a lot of air balls lately with the AMG One, C63, GT63 E-Hybrid, and the new SL.

No, BMW needs to very much NOT do anything “next level” if it involves taking cues from the C63 AMG

The great thing about my money is that it’s MY money. And if “next level” means a PHEV with a 4 cylinder engine, I couldn’t give two craps if it does 0-60 in 2.5 seconds like your neighbor’s wife’s Tesla. My money will remain in my pocket where it belongs, and I will spend it on other things. Nothing sends a message better than unsold cars

HP is 471 with a 200HP electric boost. The peak HP is only for 10 seconds, then it needs to regenerate the power for later boost. It's not always there. Overall super high strung with questionable reliability. Just look at all the issues MB is having right now.

Apples vs oranges. Would never consider a 4 cylinder until I'm forced to get one. Doesn't matter if it made 1500 HP. Sound is half of the experience.

Once were into all electric cars and smalls engines, my interest in cars will be gone.
An all electric car isn't much better than a home appliance.
ICE engines are in my blood.

What is interesting is the C63 is now bigger (if memory serves than the past). From the CnD article

DIMENSIONS

Wheelbase: 113.2 in

Length: 190.6 in

Width: 74.8 in

Curb Weight: 4749 lb

Compare that to a M850i (also CnD for a 2024)

Exterior Dimensions

Wheelbase (inches) 111.1
Length (inches)191.2
Width, without mirrors (inches) 74.9
Base Curb Weight (pounds) 4478

I'll take my M850i quarter mile (with no CnD BS rollout) at 11.5@123 any day of the week. In fact Fastlaps puts the C63 E Performance at 11.5 as well. 👍

I would be negative towards BMW if they did the same. Has nothing to do with brand.

This is why they are already getting rid of it and going back to the V8.

Agreed and BMW is treading into the same water. For example the new M5 but at least it will still have a V8 (per speculation or perhaps confirmed now). Just don't want to play in the PHEV world so all BMW models destined for that are DOA to me regardless of my obvious loyalty to BMW.
