Alcantara headliner

Hey everyone... recently took delivery of a 2021 M8 Gran Coupe. Quick question...is it normal for the alcantara headliner to be able to push up on it? It goes up about 2 inches or so when I push on it. Just checking if this is normal play or if it should be tighter to the roof? Thanks in advance!

Yep normal, its for cushioning for your head when you flip your car cause it was driven too fast into turns.

All joking aside, I like the plushness and there is no sag to boot.

I might need that feature with how crazy stupid fast this car is lol.... and I’m coming from a 2015 M4...forgive me but when you said there is no sag... does that mean I should NOT be able to push the roof up a couple inches like I can. Is it supposed to be tight up to the roof? Just want to make sure i’m understanding correctly ... thanks

Sorry I was not clear; I meant the headliner doesnt dip down like a bed canopy.

Mine is like yours, very pushable upwards.

I've never tried to "push up" on the Alcantara headliner on my M850i but will give it a go tomorrow when I take it for a drive. My guess is it will fall inline with the OP and Vic's experience given the nature of the beast for a headliner and the Alcantara plushness.
