New 21 m850xi Frozen Dark Gray Metallic

I will take pictures upon delivery and repost here, just wanted to introduce myself to the forum and ask a couple questions! I am a finance manager for an Acura dealership in the mid-west so if anyone ever needs lease figures or incentive info just let me know!

Very pleased to be joining the 8 series pack, and very excited about owning this car! First 6 figure vehicle for me and at 27 it feels like an accomplishment. I have my first kiddo (baby boy) on the way and wanted a car that didn't sacrifice too much fun whilst remaining a "responsible" choice. Was torn between Audi RS5, E63 AMG, and the 8 Series. My wife has always liked my BMW's more than my Audi's, and my M2 was the most fun car I have owned, though it caused me a lot of problems out of warranty, 8 series incentives and lease figures were the most attractive, and its a sexy car! I worked with Chris @ DSRLeasing to get everything done, paid him a flat fee and didn't step foot in a dealership, being a finance manager in the business myself its the last thing I ever want to do lol! Ended up at $18500 discount plus $3500 in rebates. Felt like given the spec it was a good deal. The stock of 21MY cars is getting smaller and smaller everyday and most of the remaining units were not what I wanted. Made it a great experience overall. Now just to get this car on my driveway!!!

I attached my cars spec sheet as well! I really wanted the white/blue interior but I wanted this exact exterior color which has been hard to find so I had to make a decision on if I wanted a better deal on a 21 or spend the extra money and build a 22. Opted to go with what I could get right away and in otherwise my perfect spec.

----

Only a couple questions, is anyone running downpipes on their vehicle yet? How about JB4 as a tuning solution?

I have read that the new 8 series is strictly locked from tuning. I come from an m2 using bootmod, so that's a bit of a let down, but it looks like JB4 is a good option! If any of you guys are running downpipes what do you have and do you recommend them?

Look forward to speaking with some other 8 series owners, if anyone is in Missouri let me know!

Thank you! I was definitely pleased with the spec. I purchased Dr. Beasley's matte coating, hopefully it works well. I want to get the paint in good shape right away, considering matte PPF after the coating.

The good news is no more than 4 more days until delivery!! Dealership just received confirmation of a driver, should be on the truck today. Absolutely cannot wait!!!

Welcome!

I had Dr. Beasley's put on my ride too and touch it up after washes. Been great thus far. This is a lease and I don't have PPF, don't plan on putting it on.

Mines a lease too but I've heard horror stories about bmw lease turn-in and even more so on frozen paints.. has me considering spending the grand on the PPF. Have you had a few previous bmw leases with a good experience @ time of turn in?

I'm back in the UK now after 14 years in the USA where between my wife and myself we leased 525xi, X3, 535xi, 328 coupe, 335i, 328xi, M3, X4, M3C.

In all that time, I only ever had to "buy" 2 tires at lease end (and these weren't really bought. I just paid the $200 per tire as per the lease turn in rates).

The experience was always different. Some really weren't bothered, especially if you were getting into a new lease. Others were a little more picky.

I appreciate the insight, I received the car tonight, hence why I'm still awake 😂 we love the vehicle, I'll post some photos in the next day or so! Detailed it before bed LOL.

I usually just grab lease end protection. You can return the car all messed up and modified from my experience.

I've gone through a handful of lease turn-ins at different dealers and didn't have any issues, but I would imagine the dealer and situation plays a big role.

Car 1: A few decent dings, but nothing their "gauge" would flag. I was actually about 3000 miles under my allowance and received an unexpected credit for about $200 due to that fact about 60 days later.
Car 2: The bumper needed to be repainted due to some parking lot damage, about 3 or 4 deep 6"+ scratches I planned to touch up before I turned it in, but my CA told me not to worry about it as long as it didn't require bodywork.
Car 3: I was over mileage by about 200 miles and thought I might receive a bill after the fact, but just ended up getting a letter that said they waived the fee. My CA for the new car frantically looked for the cargo cover I had on the floor of the second row (3 row X5) because I would have been hit fairly hard for that.
Car 4: I had painted reflectors, tinted windows, cords starting to show on the inside of one tire and the other side going below spec as well. These were all things I normally would have taken care of well in advance, but I ended up securing one of the crazy F92 deals, so I was getting out of the car about 10 weeks early and didn't have time since they were pushing to do the delivery by the end of the year. I simply slapped my summer wheels back on and road it down. They didn't said a word, and barely looked at the car.
