Adding Carbon Ceramic brakes to a '21 M8C GC

Anyone know if you can buy and have the factory carbon ceramic brakes installed on an existing car by the dealer? I know it would be expensive, just curious if it do-able? Thanks for info...

If you get a quote please let us know what it is. Quite curious to see how much afterward.

Looks like the parts alone are north of $14K

That's not really that bad, if that is the change over parts needed as well.

So I just looked it up on my invoice and I paid 9500.00 CAD + 13% tax for mine when ordered. I feel now, especially seeing as it is in Canadian dollars I got a hell of a deal on those. At today's exchange (tax out) from US to CAD that's $7588.69 USD
I'm very happy now.
Plus they are awesome. I don't drive a lot so they should last me a long time. Maybe about 10 years they say or 100km

Retrofitting CCB’s on MB’s (a $9k option) costs over $20k from the dealer (rotors, calipers, pads, access., labor) and about $15-$17k elsewhere.

I assume BMW will not be too far off

I'm guessing you won't be far off, we will see, sitting at my dealer now waiting on a quote

See if you can get the break down from parts and labor. Switch overs like that are super easy, I have always done my own brake services and big brake kits. Less than 30 mins per wheel. So if parts are right I'll do it myself when car is new.

They'll give it to me parts and labor because they always give me the good customer discount on parts

First quote was a fail...they quoted $1700 and I jumped all over that...of course, they figured out that did not include the correct parts

I agree with the poster above that these should be a basic swap out. You would think they would be essentially be the same as the M steel brakes. Possible that the caliper bracket might be different. Who knows what else BMW has done on the two different systems. Different programming maybe? Settings?
That first $1700 is just to get the parts guy to open up the computer to look for parts.....lol

I'd just wait for parts to become available from a write-off car.

That is not a bad idea actually although never tried used brake parts before...

I suppose used could work in the case of ceramics with low mileage on them. If the savings was substantial enough. You'd need the price of new parts to know that.
If you could even fond a used set.
How many cars are ordered with these carbons new? Doesn't seem to be many.

I have an '22 M3Comp XDrive order in and I spec'd it w Carbon Ceramics…all of the research I have done says they actually last longer and save a little weight; have not heard any complaints…

yep, that's fairly true on all mods. roughly double the factory option price and a slightly cheaper 3rd party shop.

if the CCB is a $10k option, bmw dealership is probably going to charge $20k
