Bimmerpost Exclusive: realistic Production M8 Coupe render

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
- Updated with more detailed work, new colours & Shadowline trim -

After my M8 GC renders here (http://f92.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1473864) and by request of some Bimmerpost members, here's the 1st realistic M8 Coupe render that I know of... It's of course based on the 8 Series concept presented last year by BMW.

When I started the render I knew it would be a challenge as the concept front end is very different from the production car based on spy pictures.

However the M8 Gran Coupe concept that was just released is in fact a thinly disguised production car. And BMW insider Scott26 confirmed that it's front end was basically the production M8 front end.

Based on that, I morphed the M8 GC nose into the 8 Series concept and, with the camouflaged car cues, modified the side sills to reflect what the production M8 coupe would look like. I also modified the rear deck to be similar to the GC's.

I think the result is pretty close to the M8 Coupe production car. All production parts are added such as license plate, M mirrors, door handle, rims etc...

Thank you Paul for your renders, always help visualizing the future....

I just don't get the C pillar window corner that is not really a Hoffmeister kink, but rather a Infiniti'sh design...
Or maybe is the angle?

Too bad it won't look anything like this.

If it did- I'd force them to take my deposit now somehow.

Models go as such: odd numbers are sedans, even numbers are coupes.

Let's see if they will go ahead with a 9 Series as a larger and more exclusive 7 Series traditional sedan (as opposed to the lower and sportier 8 Series Gran Coupé) that would sit on the very top of the lineup and bridge the gap between the 7 Series and the 250,000€ Rolls-Royce Ghost.

I have no doubt they will as BMW rapidly moves up the food chain.

Prepare your deposit ;-) It's the new BMW design language, which is more agressive...

except for the fact that last genreration there was a 6 series coupe as well as a 4 door gran coupe..

except for the fact that the last generation.. there was a 4 series coupe as well as a 4 door gran coupe..

So.. if you think about it.. this is putting the 8 series in line with how they handled the 4 and the 6 previously... nice try tho!

perhaps BMW will get around to making a 9er someday.. but apparently not yet.

The rendered version was created to show how for this model.. the actual floor model will be more aggressive than the show model, based on input from both bimmerpost insiders like @scott26 as well as the designers like Adrian Van Hooydynk (sp) in the announcement of the M8 gran coupe concept

It's the new reinterpretation of the Hofmeister kink... Well, it's not the Hofmeister kink anymore...
