I was not going to post this but I remember a forum member complaining about BMW M vs MB AMG and no perforated leather wheel or D flat bottom. My wish as well and also wanted CF in the rim like Porsche and AMG offer so here it is. Complete with heated wheel, vibration motor, and touch sensor for drivers assistance pro... installed this afternoon

That was me, the wheel on th S coupes (and may lesser MB's even with just the amg app pkg's) are both D shaped and perforated, why this isn't standard or even an option for the M850 let alone an M8 is beyond me. Very nice and thanks for posting.

Yes I agree. I have some different ones in mind, the 3D design ones are amazing and just the right size.

My exact thoughts as well especially knowing Noushy's eye for detail and what he spent on getting his ALP installed!

Complete with all the parts and labor around $4500. But if you were to by the M performance wheel and add all the parts it would be $4000 and no heat and no touch sensor and no cf paddles. Plus the full carbon paddles from autotecknic are $400 and there are not a lot of choices for the G series cars. Even 3D design charges $800 for theirs and you still need the factory paddle set to take apart.

Holy crap! I was thinking along the lines of $2K to $2500 not knowing any better. However, I get it though as that is a total commitment to the passion for having something not only unique but also fitting a desired purpose outside of what stock can deliver. I for one can truly appreciate that as I'm currently sitting on the proverbial pins and needles waiting on the latest update from my watch broker regarding my bid for a GENUS GNS1.2. I'm in it to win it given the same passion so if need be we'll be going into round 27 of the ongoing bidding war.

The bare wheel is about $2500. The parts are expensive. Those M1 and M2 buttons list for $750 for example, the front buttons are $400, the bezel is $400, the paddles about $350, and the control module in the wheel is $400 plus vibrating motor around $60. I think there is a top cover that's $200 and the airbag is $1000. I have the midland beige airbag but went back to the black one since it matched better.

Here is something cool. They are an OE wheel manufacturer and they are making me one for the X3M. You can see the carbon top cover in process and the wheel with the touch and heat installed.

Here are some finished parts. The alcantara part is only on the M5/M8 but they made it for the X3M to match since I am doing perforated leather and alcantara and a red stripe instead of blue. Basically inverted design to M performance wheel with alcantara center and top that is not available and CF trim to match paddles. It also has heat and the touch sensor which BMW performance part does not.

Appreciate the detail. If I keep the M850i for the long haul (my track record with cars) it is all good info for planning some customizations (learning a lot from the other thread on chip tuning, etc.). My only shortfall on my decision from a M850i vs M8C is the lack of the M1/M2 buttons for more granular settings. For the most part the M850i's Sport Individual meets my needs along with toggling the sport button to "Plus" when needed. Just wish I could dial in additional settings with quick button access like the M8 has.
