Pricing advice

I'm considering a new M8 convertible and was wondering what people think is a reasonable discount to expect on an ordered car?

I've had 4 M cars but have been on the dark side (911 Turbo) for a couple of years. Love the 911 but want a vert and trunk and OK with a more GT like ride.

Based on what happened to M850i (now the discount is around 20%+) I hope M8 will get there in 6 months...

If you buy one on the lot you get an additional $5k. $3000 loyalty also. Then negotiate a discount say 4%. In total on a 150k car could be like $14000 or more so around 10% is doable. Maybe 12-13% depending on market.

Welcome yes just getting my M8 comp coupe. Happy to help. Message me when you find a car and I will try and help with the negotiating. Honestly if you want a convertible there are around 200 for sale, mostly non competition because the loss of the roof and added weight negate the benefit and the softer ride makes it rattle and jiggle less. Something to consider. Look on cars.com and find one you like. BMW is giving dealers $5000 on the HEA cars on top of your best deal. On a lease with all the discounting it can be as much as $500 off the payment, maybe even $600.

Thanks. I agree with your logic on the vert. No reason to get the comp package or even the M driver's package.

The only issue with cars on the lot are that I really want the CCB. Had them on my F10 M5 and on my P-cars so it's hard to think about going back to the brake dust. With the soft top, I would rather wash the car less often. The only one I have found with CCB is a dark green one in Miami that has a MSRP of $183,495 that they are selling for $174K. Probably could negotiate that one down too. I may call them and see.

Totally agree with noushy that best path is to find one on a lot that matches what you would order (or at least close enough to make you happy. If you order you'll need to negotiate upfront on the discount and noushy is spot on with that being a target of 4% on average. As long as the loyalty holds you can add another $3K on that.

Just lived through this with my 2020 M850i coupe order vs buying a 2019 off the lot at a much greater discount. Caveat for me is there is nothing in anyone's stock that matched my desired spec or even came close so I stuck with my order.

For sure there is another $5k plus loyalty. They also may have specific market discounts, usually large metro areas do. That can be $7k or more.

I got my m850i converible off the lot for 15% off MSRP, but I'd imagine the m8 convertible might be a bit lower.

Agreed there is less incentives on the M8 right now but if you find one of the HEA cars you can still get a great deal.

Thanks everyone for the advice. After a lot of work, dealer was able to find me a vert in production with CCB that could be changed to my specs. Had to move up to a comp pack M8 to do it. Goes into production next week.

M8 competition convertible
Davit Gray
Trauma Brown
Carbon fiber
BW
Neck warmer
CCB
ZDA/ZDY

Got 8% on an ordered car, not as good as one on the ground but good enough.
