Am curious about times running stock.

Am still on snows so I can’t do this yet.
Looking forward to times with PS4s

I hate Pirellis.

The weather has turned ugly—or normal for here—I'll try and get some once/if it improves.

Nod, I figured--wanted to verify.

These times are OK but I'm expecting better... certainly on the runs where I'm using JB4's map 6. My F90 M5C consistently ran high 2.5xs-> 2.57 being its best.

JB4 map 2 and map 6. I'm still expecting improvements here since I was traction limited (I hate Pi.. yada yada yada).

0-60 mph = 2.59s
1/8th mile = 6.74s
1/4 mile= 10.51 @131mph

Stock 0-60mph = 2.92s
Stock 1/8th mile = 7.16s

With PS4Ss, these times will improve.

So for those of you continually defending Pirellis--ZIP it... you're wrong. And if you don't think you're wrong, you're wrong on that front, too--show me objective, first-hand comparable data that refutes or rivals this. The Pirelli PZeros aren't in the same league as either the Michelin PS4Ss or their predecessor (the Pilot SuperSports). On the plus side, the PZeros ride very nicely and produce little road noise (the latter probably the result of the fact they they're not gripping the road... apparently ).

That's it for now... more later when the world's less

If you have any comparison questions or other questions, feel free to ask.
Great data Dean! You're 100% correct. Those Pirellis are crap. The Turbo S guys hate them as well and sell them right away for the PS4S.

My cousin can barely do 1.8 60' with the pirellis in his Turbo S.
I'm doing 1.5 60' with PS4S.

"Results:
0-60mph
RC GTS Black best run = 2.82s
JB4 on map 1 best run = 2.86s
1/8th mile
RC GTS Black best run = 7.20s
JB4 on map 1 best run = 7.14s"

I'm surprised the BASE runs of both boxes didn't do squat.

Ack. Statistically limited data, though, and the stock runs are on a different day, different DA, etc.

I'd also add that the car is overwhelmed on launch... because of the gobshite tires so I expect MP4Ss to pick up a tick or two. Obviously, that begs the questions, "well how about the JB4 map 2 and map 6 runs?" Fair questions: my experience/sense is that they suffer the same initial loss but pickup the time in 2nd and 3rd (both of which are required to get to 60). All other things bing (see what I did there) equal, though... yeah, it's unexpected as both the RC and JB map 1 feel faster (most of that feel is from a roll, though).

On only one run today did I feel that the car truly hooked up and it finally nailed a decent 0-60--that was the map 2 1/8th mile.

Well, bad news--the front tires are rubbing on the inside of the wheel arch. They do it between 75% and full lock. The combination of the H&R springs and 35% profile on 285s is too much. It's likely they'll do the same under braking compression.

Next step: I'll see how much Discount Tire really values my business. Regardless, the solution to me is one of the following two:
  1. Take a risk putting 275/35s back on the front (my concern being it doubles the stock front:rear circumference delta)
  2. Replace all 4 and go back to the 30% profile I used on both of my F90 M5s (which was a tad on the harsh side)

Thoughts/ideas welcomed?

Bummer.

Adjust the springs?

And this exhausts my automotive mechanical expertise.

They're fixed. So the tires are the preferential solution.

Just don't do any U-turn and you'll be good.
Do right, right, then another right. Proven to be faster too by UPS drivers.

I missed the tire change. What do you have on the rears now? The difference in front between 275 & 285 is negligible. Only about 1% change in circumference.

Did you experience any rubbing on the stock size? Front or Rear?

Agreed. I did the math before I made the change. However, I did't consider interior-top wheel-arch rubbing (as opposed to edge-arch rubbing which is NOT a problem). It's the increased tire-wall/profile that is causing the problem. This has not been an issue with my prior Ms because I've never gone for a 35% profile before.

Stock tires + H&R M550 springs == no issues.

Upgraded tires as mentioned earlier == no issues rear. Initially, no detectable issues front. Eventually, I started to hear rubbing during slow, tight maneuvers. So I setup a tight turn test and listened intently. The most pronounced rubbing was driver-side from 75% lock... possibly because it's the side I'm closer to. Physical examination doesn't reveal much. Regardless, it's severe enough for me to decide to switch them out for their lower-profile counterparts.
