So my car is all spec'd out other than exterior color which started as Brands Hatch Grey and now is at San Marino Blue for now. I am checking on availability of individual colors and my leanings in no specific order are Brilliant White Met. (My prior M6), Tanzanite Blue Met, Lime Rock Gray Met, Nardo Gray. I think Dravit is too dark. Any opinions. Interior will be the Black Merino/Midrand Beige/Black Alcantara, the standard comp interior. Smoke with Blue is amazing but the floor is smoke and too easy to stain. Advice friends?

Noushy blue is the way to go! Too many white/grey/blacks on the road. Tanzanite with white interior is epic. Saw pics earlier in the 8 forum of a m850i in this spec. Amazing.

I'd go for the blue exterior. It has to be blue man.

Marina Bay Blue looks to be very close to San Marino so I wouldn't pay extra for San Marino (it isn't a standard colour)

Otherwise I think Aventurine Red looks like a very nice colour but it is a standard 8er colour, not an M specific colour. Those are really the only two colours on the standard palette that I think look good.

Tanzanite is always a very nice colour though

Agree Marina Bay Blue save the extra money it costs for VERY similar looking blues

Update

You guys are mind readers. Did Marina Bay Blue to save $5500 over individual paint and 2 extra production weeks. As for interior the smoke with blue has smoke carpets and that was the deal breaker. Ended up with the Black/Midrand Beige/Alcantara with CF and basically all the options. Even M drivers and CF exterior bits. Production is week 42. Should be here after Thanksgiving to early December. Not happy about an extra car payment for two months but what can you do. No pull ahead.

Oh and after completing the build and changing it from P3 to P1 it moved to status 112. I did like Tanzanite but not fair to charge me $5500 vs. $1900 for M850 and new M3/M4 buyers.

Thanks. I saw the Tanzanite it's beautiful but for some reason $5500 on the M8 vs. $1900 or so on the M850i.

Noushy yes agree that is a bit hard to take. Tanzanite or any individual colour not yet an option down under for the 8 series. Look forward to your review.

Ohh that's a good point, Tanzanite is available on various 3/4/5/8 non M cars for a tiny amount of extra money. I'd have told BMW to give me Tanzanite at $1900 as per the M850i cost.

All 8s are all made at Dingolfing (just like the original E31 8, and 6 series E24, E63 and F13) so it can't be that hard for them!

We tried and their answer was change in production line and schedule and need for two painters causes the price to be $5500.

Noushy I know your sense of excitement will be building now for your new M8. If the wait to December is ever feeling a bit much then just read this:

Very cool. Yes I have done this many times as this is my 11th BMW from this dealership. I have owned 2 M6 coupes, one M6 convertible. A X5M (F85), X6M (F86), along with 3 other X5, two Alpina B7 sedans and the X3MC. I am excited to have a coupe again but the sticker shock is still settling in. Happy to chat about it.

That makes zero sense given my 2020 M850i order to be built the week of 10/21 has a $1950 charge for Tanzanite Blue. One would think that for a M8 the uplift on the same Individual color would stand. Then again I learned a hard lesson with Individual orders as my original build slot was lost due to a SNAFU via BMW USA.

I'm going with Fiona Red/Black full leather vs Ivory as it works with Tanzanite on the color palette spectrum. Looking forward to your pics when your M8C lands along with my M850i in December!
