Interesting that the steering has little feel because the prototype that car and driver drove was claimed to had good feel.

To be fair, it is 4,400lbs. Not sure how they're gonna make the M8 any lighter. The M850i is the Aston Martin Vanquish of BMW's. More a status symbol and comfortable GT Touring car than a sports car. The M8 will still bit a smidge faster than the F90 M5 though.

Got to remember this is more geared towards the guys who'll never push this car to its limits. I don't think this was meant to be a drivers car, rather a status symbol car.

I disagree. There are plenty of GT cars out there that can perform while being comfortable to drive. I guess that will be saved for the M8 though.

Nobody claimed this was a sports car. It's a full size luxury coupe that's lighter than its competition and smaller than the 6 series coupe it replaces. I didn't buy a 6 series because it was a sports car but because it's a comfortable sporty cruiser & I see the 8 series as a potential replacement for it - the 0-60 time is just a bonus.

The 8 series isn't meant to be a sports car. GT car.

Apologies. You did not say that. And we agree that the 8 is no sports car.

I'm a huge fan of the BMW brand, but I just can't understand why they (or anyone else, apparently) can't do what Porsche has done. Consider the 9114S, Porsche's closest performer to the M850. It weighs 1100 pounds less than the BMW. That's a crazy number. Exterior dims are much smaller, but the front seats are only marginally smaller. And both cars' back seats are equally unusable. The only real-life advantage for the M850 is the ability to fit a set of golf clubs in the trunk. Is that really worth another 1100 pounds of weight?
I know it's a first world problem, but I'd kill for the love child of my M4 and my 911!

Only that it is fast and that it's 200lbs lighter than a competitor. Why don't you relax...

Exterior wise most definitely. I feel like interior wise it's pretty boring compared to the interior of the X5
