I have not yet done that coding on mine. But you may want to check this out:

https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1708753&page=7

https://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1586436

They are discussing it extensively there and someone also did a writeup.

Here's mine after coding—the red, white and blue of both the Stars and Stripes 🇺🇸 and the Union Jack 🇬🇧.

No. I have a guy do it for me since I'm no longer motivated to maintain pace with all the changes. He does it all remotely assuming you have a PC and the OBD II<->Ethernet cable.

Bimmercode isn't the platform BMW nor 3rd-party coders use—they use Esys.

Bimmercode is progressing year over year and often gets close to the latest and greatest tweaks we all love. However, it's never been on par with what an experienced Esys guy can do. If you're reasonably technical, it's like the difference between the Windows Control Panel vs. REGEDIT (Esys being the latter in both capability and complexity... and risk for that matter).

That said, you'll need to let them use your laptop to remotely access your car with Esys—non-trivial but not something you have to know how to do.

Also generally speaking Bimmercode (as good as it is for its purpose - quick on the fly coding) does not have access to all coding options, especially the more "sophisticated" ones. In this respect Bimmercode confirm that expert mode is not available for control units that contain safety related functions. Further I personally find that when using expert mode, navigating and searching through the ECUs and their function values/parameters the coding experience is much less user-friendly compared to the coding comfort via laptop/workstation and of course when using a complete tool such as Esys. But again for quick on the fly coding and for the most common coding needs, it does quite well and can be learned and operated by less experienced people too who do not want to follow the other coding route/s.

Or you can just use bimmercode expert mode, everything you need is there. search the G05 forum for programming and google hex values for cool colors.

Sorry I’ve been looking for hours in BimmerCode to create custom ambient light colors, but none of the guidance for other cars seems to match up with I see for my 2022 m850

If anyone has figured this with BimmerCode, please post details

Thanks kindly

richcodedmycar@gmail.com did a great job on mine. I'll be posting a list of what was done soon. He's great and very responsive. I got the idea from this thread here:

Yes, but outside of the Diamond tweeter in the front doors from my understanding as that is either white or off. Mid-range drivers the sky's the limit.
