Good News. US finally allows fully adaptive headlights

Look like the US is finally stepping away from the 1960's regulations re. headlights...

Hopefully BMW will code the headlights to full functionality with a software update.

Just saw this too! Great news! Sounds like it may take some time for more testing and approval though. Wonder if they will ultimately allow it to be retroactive to previous cars that have the necessary hardware. Now of they only allowed the lasers to go on full blast.

Yes, but when will BMW finally enable it from the factory for US cars?

Saw a similar article a month or so back once it had made its way via the legislature. However, I didn't post as it sounded like it could still take another year at least to be fully ratified by the secretary of transportation and whom knows whether BMW will push OTA to enable for existing cars vs just allowing it on new models once ratified.

Exactly. Nothing moves fast with the government.
