I prefer the M8 interior over S63...
Also, I can't get accustomed to the gear selector on the steering column!

I generally resist commenting on issues of style and color because, you know, each to his or her own. But that Mercedes interior...I keep imagining the worst dental office ever conceived in a horror movie.

Why is the 8 series being compared to the S class when it is really in the E-coupe class category?
I think that 8-series is the new 6 and I am not quite sure what BMW are doing with their naming?! |

Looks are of course subjective but I think that Mercedes interior is dog s**t
I'd take the M8 any day exterior and interior

Assuming all things are equal, I think M8 does have a slightly wider stance, though the difference is likely tiny.
I don't think that's a bad thing, the non-M 8 series is already wide enough as it is. |

Nice comparison; however I believe you had to compare S63 with M6 since they are the same generation and TBH , M6 is much nicer than S63

Absolutely love the 8. My only ask is they make a more distinct difference between the M and 850i
Non car people will not tell the difference whatsoever. Btw get that ugly S class out of the comparison! BMW takes the cake everytime |

One is aggressive and sporty.
The other is more "classically" beautiful. One has an interior design probably befitting an $80k car, the other looks well worth its price.

I know there are many fans of Mercedes interiors on Bimmerpost, but it's not my taste. It's a little bitt too cheesy and I can't stand that huge flat (not driver oriented) screen wall they put in every interior nowadays.

If you look at the shadow to the far side of the headlight on the left hand side in particular of the M8 it does look like it might be slightly wider - or it could just be a trick of the lighting.

Curiously the rear track on the M850i is 1642mm and on the M8 it is 1632mm. With the rear tyre only being 10mm wider the top corner of each tyre is actually 5mm further in than on the M850i.
