Real World EPA estimates = <100mpg most likely.

a third party company wouldn't overstate the numbers like that

It's cool how people are tuning their cars and adapting their driving style for ultra-high gas mileage. There might be a day where this will become a necessity.

Who cares?

It's a Prius, nobody should care how far it can go on a gallon of gas because it's still going to cost you more to drive than a similar car with a standard IC engine only.

150 MPG? My goodnesss!

The fuel tank holds 11.9 gallons so roughly 1800 miles per full tank is amazing!

I am not impressed, all they did was stick a bigger battery in and allow you to "cheat" on your MPG rating by charging your car every night, and changing the computer to use the electric motor more than the gas engine. Doesn't seem as elegent anymore. It would be like if their MPG solution was to hire a bunch of people to push you around.

The idea of a hybrid car is you don't have to plug it in, and you just magically get a lot of fuel efficiency out of your car without treating it any differently.

They should have taken the engine out completely, and advertised it as an infinite MPG prius!!!!

A $9500 option? That might be okay if the batteries lasted forever, but they never do. Maybe someday sails and solar panels will be offered too.

Priuses are awesome cars, my brother in law owns one so I get to drive it any minute. Well built, amazing mpg, awesome interior, soft ride. Not a curve carver, but it's great for what it does – saving fuel.
I'm always surprised how people like to spread BS without even driving one. BMW drivers are arrogant.

That last statement is rather arrogant. You can't generalize a brand's followers. Go to an Audi board...you have the same # of arrogant people down there. That doesn't mean that all Audi drivers are arrogant.

Saves fuel, but not money. You're better off getting a Yaris with almost as good fuel economy and almost 1/2 the price.
