White Streaks on Windows

For the past few days, when I open my windows, I'm noticing white streaks dragging from the bottom of the window to the top. This is happening front and back. Any idea what it is? It's annoying especially
when you car and windows clean.

Get the same thing, if you find a solution lmk. Dealership says they can replace the seal thing at my cost, I doubt that’ll help.

Mine also under warranty, had it in for std maint and asked them to address it while there. They cleaned it and said “good luck” basically. I’ll find a pic of it to attach - it is super irritating. Yours a vert too by chance?

This is like those spots on a car that after you dry it 10 times it still becomes wet.... What I do with my vert is the next day roll down the windows all the way and use microfiber towel with a plastic trim tool and dry it out really well. You can also run the window up and down drying between about three times and its all gone too. Pain but I think by design it just holds moister a bit there. I also typically clean my windows the following morning after they are nice a cool to the touch from being outside getting washed.

Have to agree with Tenac - re: have to dry w/ cloth several iterations of up/drown to clear all moisture. I think this is a broader BMW problem, not model specific. If you lower the window with moisture (either on the window or rain seepage into the window sleeves), they will leave a white streak. For me they are vertical lines. The best explanation I’ve received is that there was a change at some point to the sleeve material and they all will fail over time, so if you are paying on your own $ to fix it’s transitory at best. Garage Queens fare better than those left outside but I’m in SF so rain finds its way into everything.

I've had that same thing (I think) on my last few cars. Its random though. Sometimes it's there, sometimes not. It usually a few inches forward from the rear edge of the window.

Mine is white streaks very light. Did the dealer tell you what it is and what’s causing it? I’ve been driving BMWs all my life, never seen this issue before!

I'm assuming likely tint involved? No issues on the M850i for the outside of the window but does happen on occasion in the inside. As per Tenac it's best to fully clean once the window is at ambient cool temperatures. Hot glass within itself leads to streaking.

Thanks guys for the comments and recommendations but keep in mind, this not happening after a car wash. I washed the car on Saturday and on Thursday, I was getting the front end PPFed. When I picked the car I rolled my windows down and when I got home I can see the white streaks on the inside of the windows as I'm rolling up. I don't have tint!

They spray ALOT of water to help the PPF move around, it is possible that got your windows wet again.

Hmm....hard to tell with the pics being so close to the window....but I don't think I've had anything like that.

Use a towel with window down. Push it in the slot the window goes. The felt is still wet or has something on it. Drag the towel across to dry.

Have tried cleaning the thresholds on either side of glass, have taken q-tips and microfibers in/around. Happens intermittently, and is not attributable to rain or a wash (oddly).
