Alpina B8 order / production status?
Anybody get delivery of an Alpina B8 yet? Even have their Alpina B8 scheduled for production yet? Mine has said "order received" for weeks now with no changes.

I had a week 22 production slot (May 31- June 6) It showed it going through the build in week 24 but has been on "Quality Check" status since then. From what i understand it gets shipped to Alpina for finishing for 3-4 weeks. Hoping to get a ship date soon.

Hey, did either of you B8 guys run across the Ordering and Pricing guides? I've searched a bit, but came up empty. Thx.

What's the market like for these? My client advisor has a B8 allocation available for anyone that is interested in one. Just watched some YouTube reviews and this thing looks amazing. What will the production numbers on these be?

It finally changed to dispatched from factory this week. So that was another 6 weeks it was there, I was told it was because of the chip shortage.
Not sure how long the shipping takes. |

1 is also at BMW Houston North. They let me whip it around for a few while I was getting a tire on our X3MC warrantied. I swear to god(in a good way). If the front splitter wouldn't have said Alpina I would've suspected it was just an 840i or 850i. I really really really hope anyone that's stepping into the Aplina B8 at minimum finds an M8GC to test first. Even the B8 in "sport mode" was like a little kitten and sounded rather..... let's say gentle. |

To lay it non PC for you. Interior is moot, not much "Alpina" about it besides the dual pano roof. The body lines are weak and the physical presence is just as limp wristed. Performance wise..... can't even remotely compare to an M8GC. As a consumer that actually appreciates style and performance combined and not status or posh finishes, the M8GC blows the Alpina out of the water. Just saying, see it for yourself in person and not on the Google. |

"Performance wise..... can't even remotely compare to an M8GC"
That's strange thing to say since it has 5 less HP and 37 More lb of Torque than the COMP GC. A better suspension and transmission tune. I guess if want the loud crackling exhaust and a stiff ride you'll have to stick with the M. The Alpinas aren't for everyone.... thankfully 😉 |

They don't want the perceived 'performance' of a loud exhaust or harsh ride on a sedan that will never see the track. They probably own a proper 2 door sports car already like an M2. My B8 will park between my BMW X7 M50i and Porsche GT4. I like my loud and harsh cars to be rear wheel drive, mid engine, and manual transmission Now, back on topic. My B8 entered production today and I got a VIN assignment! |

These are all things you'll see for yourself. I'm just giving real world hands on feedback. The B7 will always be > the B8. |
