G35 impressions

I test drove 2008 G35s and was very surprised that it is even considered a BMW 3 series killer. This car is absolutely no fun. The launch is busy, the sitting position is quite high, no precision steering and no quickness and tossable feeling. Despite it looks big, the interior is not that spacious. On the positive side, the feature set is very rich - bimmer is not close in that department for the reasonable money. The interior implementation is on the cheap side though.

Yeah, and the exterior design isn't too bad either. I just really don't like the interior design.

I also test drove MB350 and let me say its display is way better than on either BMW or Infinity. Low res sucks for the bimmer and especially for the price.

I dont agree with anyone saying that the G35 looks good. In no way does it look anywhere close to any Bimmer. But i do agree that the standard features are better.

It is still not Bimmer!

It's a great car. However, you have to decide if you want the Japanese feel or the German feel. It's a very different experience!

coming from g35c...i hate g37.
335i > g37 when it comes to performance.
g37 > 335i when it comes to interior.

my 2 cents.

My friends have an 08 G35.

It is very very nice, very quick interior is worlds beyond the BMW's designs.

the price is the best selling feature, the lease price on a fully loaded G35 is about the same as a loaded 328 and more than $100 a month less than a comprable 335.

The only thing is lacks is the cornering and handling of a BMW

my buddy and i got our cars together... he decided he wantedf to be a techno-crat and went out and bought a fully loaded G35S. Granted, that all those amenities will blow you away for the first few days/ months, but when it comes down to it, both of us LOVE to drive and have a craving for the need for speed. I recently met up with him and we drove each others cars. The minute he got behind the wheel of my car, he was impressed (btw for all of you who feel that your 335's are slow, try riding one in the passenger seat). He described it as a go-kart on steriods... the harsher ride, the perfect steering and gob smacking throttle response and all I could say was 'really'?

Mind you, I did test drive the G35S when it came out in 06 before I bought my car. I liked it then. This time, I get behind the wheel and hit the gas, the damn thing felt like a ton of bricks....306bhp??? I think not!!! The A4 2.0T feels a lot faster. Also, the short play clutch wasnt something I liked. Anyway, long story short I handed him the keys and asked him 'was all this techno-crap worth it?'.....all he could say was 'I made a mistake'
