I’m running 12mm rear and 18mm front… that’s a standard setup for m8 and most of use the same… I really wanna go with wider tyres just worried a little if it’s gonna rub with 285/295 tyres

I initially had 18mm front and 12mm rear on stock tires.
Then I went with 285f and 295r PS4S on a 12mm square setup. Had to run a square since the fronts would rub on the 18mm. The pic with pirrellis was 18/12 setup.

Personally I wouldn't go with 40s/35s I feel the car loses it's sporty look and you will not get the flush look you're interested in...
There is a member on this forum that's running 255/35 front 285/30 rear with 15mm spacers all around on the M728s. I'm changing my tires this summer as well and I'm in the same boat as you, I want to get a little wider tires. Currently I have almost a flush look but I would like to get little closer to the edge of the vendors but NOT to extend outside the vendors. Here's the current look with the 245/275. Let us know what you decide! By-the-way, where are you planning to purchase your tires from? I haven't found a reasonable price for Michelin's S4S yet! |

Any idea what thread it was? I can't seem to find it. It does seem the 245 and 275's are a bit stretched on the stock 8" and 9" wheels and they could go a bit wider. I also agree that 40/35 have too much sidewall and don't look as sporty.

I am running 245/40 and 275/35 non-runflats on my oem m850 wheels. I had them on both my old Gran Coupe and my current Coupe. I have spacers for the coupe, but havent gotten around to installing them yet. I do like that the tires fill out the wheel well a bit more and the ride is a little more plush but still plenty sporty.
Heres some pics of my old GC, kinda hard to see but its all I have. |

Great, this's exactly what I'm looking to do also. Thank you for posting this here!....Can you post some pics. of the side of the car? I like to see how the sidewall profiles compare.

I began shopping around for new tires, interesting enough on tiredirect.ca they state if you want to go with 285/30R20 rear, the Approve Rim Width is 9.5" - 10.5". So how is it some members here managed to put the 285/30R20 on M728s with no issues being a 9"wheel?
I'm confused now and starting to wonder if I should keep the factory sizes for both front and rear! Quote:
