I'd go with the Camaro over the Genesis. For the same price as a 2.0T track you can get a Camaro V6 LT1 RS (I think the LT1, whatever the one under the one with leather standard is).

Also, I happened to be driving by the Hyundai dealership with my GF in the car when she said out loud, "What in the hell is that car at the Hyundai dealership? It looks really good!"

I figured it was the Genesis and since I haven't seen one in person I pulled a u-turn to take a closer peek. Sure enough it was a 2.0T Premium w/ Auto. Not bad looking, but there seemed to be a slight fitment issue with the window against the car since the door doesn't have a frame around the window. Anyways it wasn't that bad until I looked at the price. $26,250! That RS V6 is only around $1,500 more. Then it got even worse. I looked to the left of the info sticker and it had one of those dealer price sheets. The price for the car was $31,250! I wondered what the hell they had done to it that added 5G's so I looked up and it was "Market Adjustment".

They are charging a 5G premium over MSRP for a 2.0T Auto in this market! HAHA! GL with that. While the Camaro undoubtedly has a markup as well, its rich history is enough to justify it.

It's a bit of an unfair comparison since the true Camaro is not the V6, whereas that's as good as it gets for the Hyundai. They may price similarly, but if I were shopping a muscle car, I wouldn't bother with the weakling.

I agree. Even the Genesis sedan is selling at a discounted price (not many months after its introduction).

I think you misunderstood me. The car's MSRP was $26,375. Go on Hyundai's website. The 2.0T Premium with Automatic is $25,500. Add $750 destination and you get $26,250, I don't know where the dealer got an extra hundred from. The car at the dealer had the normal window sticker on it saying $26,375, but to the side it had an extra pricing sheet, you know the one where they add dealer installed options like tint, etc? Well the price at the bottom of that was $31,375. When I looked what added an extra $5,000 over MSRP all it said was "ADM" which is administration fee or essentially a markup. So they want $31,375 for a 4cyl turbo Hyundai with cloth seats, manual air conditioning, and a auto transmission... Here are the pictures of the window sticker to show you:

like how they jack the price of GTR's from 70k MSRP to 150k!

Idea is, that no ones gonna pay that stupid mark up but if the dealer say OH I'll bring the price down to $26k(which is MSRP), it seems like the dealer is giving you a substantial discount, which they're not. normal consumers don't know that

Passing a Hyundai store this morning and saw a coupe. I pulled in and they had 12.

A gray 3.8 track looked decent but the front end, in person, looks pretty busy. $30 and change. A 2.0 track in silver with black/red cloth was $27 and change. No mark up on any.

The metallic light green was...well....

Interior looks nice and the finishes are pretty nice. The seats look very snug/comfy. Back seat appears to be some what functional.
