Side curiosity... Front plates are finally not required in Ohio as of last year, but I haven't had a front plate since 2003 and only got pulled over 1 time for it and not even given a ticket. I know its more stickly enforced in some places. How is it in Canada? Are there people that just skip the front plates?

I believe that belongs in the front 3/4 thread.

(I really just wanted an excuse to use that emoji)

I’m in the UK mate - unfortunately it’s very strictly enforced here, even down to the spacing on the plates (some people will illegally space private plates to make them look more like a name etc).

The front end of my car is PPF’d, so the horrible front plate mount has been removed and the plate is just on directly with sticky pads, which does look slightly better - I’d still prefer it without though.

Oops. Sorry. I knew that looked odd for a Canadian plate. Not sure what I was thinking when I typed it. I do think the elongated plates look much better than the big rectangular US ones on the front of cars.

Oh, I see now. You have a similar car that ikonn posted right above yours. I think I just thought it was the same person posting both.

And my car is RHD
Yeah I think the UK font is nicer too, but I think the front end of the 8 looks so much better without a plate. Weirdly on the likes of the new M3/4, the front end actually looks better with a plate IMO, as it breaks up the impact of the massive grille.

We are a little short on mountains here in Ohio. I think there is an indian burial mound I could perhaps use depending on how stringent the thread requirements are.

I was thinking 4,500' to start, then see how it goes.

That would give some of you guys an incentive to go out and put some real miles on these marvelous machines.

Not that anyone should need any incentives.......just sayin'

In Canada if you did not have a front plate they would throw you in jail and force you to watch the Devils and Blue Jackets play hockey.

It honestly seems random from car to car which will be black and which will be the silver lines. Its most likely a camera illusion of some sort and they're all infact silver unless the top of yours is actually black.

Honestly can't tell but you can see from maechthildt and my photos that the top of the headlight is a lot brighter but for example Tenac 's headlights are darker like yours (Picture on page 2 of the thread). Hopefully someone can shine some insight and solve this back and forth haha

I checked my window sticker, could this be the culprit:

M Shadowline Lights.

That must be it Looks like the actual material inside is made black instead of a tint, don't think it was an option before. I quite like the aesthetic it gives.
