Well, I used to be hardcore into Japanese performance cars but when my mom first got her MB E350 and I started driving that around a lot, I realized that luxury is definitely a key feature which is why I ordered a 335i and my sti is currently for sale.

This was my first ever BMW, a 1991 E30 325iX. Prior to this car, drove a 1985 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer and had not really considered getting a German (European) car, as I was caught up in the hoopla of Japanese engineering and reliability. For some reason, I always saw European cars as somewhat out of reach. Not entirely sure why. Perhaps it was simply my naivetι speaking.

However, when my beloved Aunt Samantha decided to give me her old car (a somewhat lengthy story behind that), I saw the light, and have been a BMW lover since.

You must be awfully young to think any M-B model with the letters in front of the numbers is old school.

Like I said I was exagerating. I'm 26. So at the time I was still in elementary school.

My first car made me always want a sports sedan in my garage. It was a 1991 Infiniti Q45, and boy was that thing fun. In 150,000 miles of powerbreaking, jumping, and just overall SMASHING that car I only went through one tranny. When it was on its last leg my buddy and I jumped it and ripped the oil pan off so I just gave it away for a tax write-off.
From then on it was a X5 (fun but not fun enough), a A8 (big and soft), and then my E90.

Believe it or not, my first was an Audi 100 and it was really quite enjoyable to drive although a bit slow I liked it a lot and was sad the day a careless driver ran a light and totaled it. Other influential rides along the way were a Scirocco, Integra GSR and an RX7. However, it was a friend that is a salesman that let me dive his 545i and that pushed me over the BMW edge. I loved that car but it was a bit big for my tastes and needs. I settled on a 07 335i and could not be happier. It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Like others have said, I look for excuses to drive!

Thumbs up

My father had a mid-80's 5-series. He would go with me to the local cemetary, which had lots and lots of twisty bits, and show me just how much fun a stick can be. Even let me shift it a few times

That was when I realized that someday, I'll have a BMW.

Then later he got his dream car, a grey market Euro 1976 450 SEL 6.9. My first experience with a super sedan. And then I realized that someday, I'll have an E39 M5
