All data has been asked not be revealed until June. But there is a significance between its respective competitors. They want to lead with strong momentum on the introduction of The 8.
As well as The 8. The 7 and the X7. The upcoming X5 and X6 now fall under marketing as a Bayern Motoren Werke product. Inevitable. As the new X5 is astounding in every way. There are several new models coming developed with the Carbon Core from The 7.

Yes M Performance will be the flagship of model lines from the 3er to The 8. These model lines also include the equivalent X model.

Mercedes went as far as to give their 'AMG light' models (= akin to Audi S and BMW M Performance) the same nomenclature as the actual hardcore AMG models, after briefly attempting to market them as AMG Sport (e.g. C450 AMG Sport became C43) and probably realizing it was more confusing than anything and the cars weren't perceived as being more special than just regular models with AMG body kit (= equivalent to Audi S-Line and BMW M Sport trim). Yet this doesn't seem to have watered down the image of the hardcore AMG models (e.g. C63) the slightest bit. Edit: sorry, hadn't realized the M Performance models were already being shown on the M website Last edited by advantage20; 03-14-2018 at 08:18 PM.. |

There is also the choice of a Carbon roof which offer further innovation through lightweight technology. The 8 also makes use of composite materials on its outer skin as well as hard pressed steel and aluminium under its skin.

BMW M. Has come Along way from its more exclusive beginnings. But who is responsible for this change?....You are! The customer has changed the demographic. That is why there are far more options. The Performance SUV? Driven by the customer, an Aftermarket range with no Aftermarket penalty to the warranty? Again pushed by the customer. M Performance was started in regards to the customer being affected by taxitive legislations on high performance cars especially in the EU. Which is why the first M Performance cars were mainly diesels. Don't forget the subjects BMW M thought were Taboo such as Diesel and All wheel drive. Look at BMW M. As an industry within an industry. M-Sport,M Performance,M Performance accessories,BMW M. And the Motorsports division. Again driven by the customer to provide for every necessity. Mercedes are actually following the strategic ideas of M Performance. If we take for example with the forthcoming 3er. For M Performance we are going to see the M340i and M340d below the next M3. Think of C43 AMG and M340i as direct competitors and the M3 in competition with the C63 AMG. It's a sub-brand but AMG have not identified it as a sub-brand. Audi might be considered different because although they have an S4 you can only have the RS4 as the Avant only so there is some consistency there. M Performance is the stepping stone to BMW M. It provides a choice depending on the market. It is no wonder why this sub-brand is successful. It has identified a market and demographic to provide high performance as well as in a second option to tailor for the needs of that particular market or customer? Whether it is financially motivated, particular market legislation and tax, or indeed they need that particular choice M Performance has a performance orientated model for you.
