Seems like the AMG GT vs SL is somehow much faster and suspension tuning consistent with a much more sporty car. They are sub 3.
Gorgeous imo

Agreed on the 3D Burmeister audio. I tried to calibrate his 2021 lemon and replacement but it was an exercise in frustration. The 3D Burmeister has the most aggressive non-defeatable DSP of any car audio system I've been asked to help with. Granted I'd love the option to defeat the B&W DSP aka sound profiles as I know I would be able to get even more out of the system for my 5.1 FLAC albums but at least I've discovered "concert" is the sweet spot after hours and hours of testing/calibrating. |

Just need to wait until next year when it launches in the NA market to at least test drive it. Then the waiting game on poor selling discounts or even a CPO if I truly love it and the shortlist winner. No issues though as the lease buyout plus 7-year Platinum extended warranty keeps me in the M850i through 2026 if need be. 👍 |

It looks great but I don't trust MB transmissions, had too many issues with them on both my S Classes. MB needs to let ZF build them.

I have had 6 MCT's (what is on the new GT) and have no issues with them from a mechanical standpoint. 2010 E63 2012 CLS63 2012 E63 Wagon 2013 SL63 2017 C63 2018 E63 I do think Benz has done a better job with the MCT TCU because it used to a be a sluggish to respond via the paddle shifter along with some interesting thuds. But my latter MCT's were fine. I still think, to your point, the ZF is the better universal tranny.

Although jury is still out from my perspective on my car, xHP software makes it a bit more snappier. Seems to move through massive torque, 2900-3200 rpm range quicker. Have not had the car on the track yet to really test.

I have been using mine for about 2-3 months now and I cannot say my car got any faster, but definitely snappier. I can however match the drag times on my draggy with or without using launch control with the xHP by simply brake boosting to 2000-2500rpm. Cost is around $400 total |

2016 S550 Coupe (7G) Nightmare, very hard shifts, Megatronic replacement made it even worse 2017 S550 Coupe (9G) Better than 7G, but not great (first MY for 9G). Agree, the original AMG wet clutch was a known problem child, as was the non-amg 7G. There were lots of complaints on MBWorld forum, even with the latest rendition.

But the low speed shifting was atrocious!!! Got better with the 9 speed but anything before than was crap most of the time outside of comfort mode. 9 speed is the best so far but even that isn't as good as the auto from bmw |

I'd go mediocre at best on the Merc trans; it's not as smooth as a PDK on the one end and lacks the snappy shipping on the other. Could be car specific though; I've got a porker tuned for comfort. Still, a dual-clutch should not be besting an auto at one of it's best potential attributes; smooth, comfortable, shifts.
It isn't just the tuning though, the box has some problems like what's usually described as a thunk, bang, or something similar at low speeds in certain situations. This is most often seen on steeper hills with a downshift from any gear or when at a standing start and the transmission decides to shift down from 2nd to 1st. The latter happens a fair bit where you've set off but for some reason you need to goose it and you get an abrupt, clunky, shift. I've had the ZF in various iterations in a number of cars and I'd rate it well above what's in mine now. |

This what the 63s should have came with regarding power The question is what is the curb weight and pricing? ( probably around 200k unless gets some discounts) I am still waiting for the new m5 but i dont like the fact it weight 5400 pounds and only 718 hp (despite being probably underated) and not a big fan of the look overall |

The new Gt is the best-looking iteration yet, but still an amalgamation of an MB Gt and 911. I know imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but if i were Porsche I'd be pissed, as on the side view from the A-pillar back it is a 911 rip off.

Sat in a new GT coupe today. Really nice, sporty exterior in my opinion. When peaking inside, the interior looked promising even with the duct taped screen. But then I sat in it. The screen is so out of place and ruined the entire experience. It’s akin to cheap body kits and wings that dominated the Honda tuner scene. So disappointing as Mercs used to have great interiors.
Reviews also describe the GT as having a fair amount of road noise and a “firm” suspension. For a grand tourer the M8 seems to bring the goods. |

My good friend is minority owner in a store so he let me drive the car today and he knows who I am and how I drive so I kinda ripped it. But I first warmed up the oil and tires...
Soooo Is it good? Sure it it is but its heavy and reasonably fast. I cant really compare it to my M8 since the 8 is modded with RaceChip but it felt better than the GT63S Sedans Ive borrowed in times past. Interior: its fine and loaded with tech and screens. I dont buy cars for the tech per se but do enjoy an better optical presentation. So it was easily acceptable and not an issue to me. Suspension/Chassis: I drove it in Sport Plus (all settings aggressive) and man this thing is a fat tank and a brick on the road. My roads are pretty good in the OC but it was still an hardcore experience. I think if I changed the suspension to Sport or Comfort it would have been more forgiving. Its not a game breaker for me though as I like a more taut set up. After I finished and drove the same road in my M3 CS- the CS was so much better at still creating comfort while keeping the chassis very much in control. But again, I should have used different damper setttings. Speed: Its fast- not sure if its its M8 fast but this shit moves well and has responsive throttle and TCU shifting. Sound: Typical Hot V AMG-- great noises, barks, pops- up and down the rpm ranges. I like alot. Cabin: I didnt spend enough time but like I mentioned earlier, its fine for me and if I get one it will be for the driveability and not creature comforts. I did hit over 100 relatively fast and it was steady and sturdy beast- steering was slightly off in feel but did reply to my inputs rather correctly. I think this could be a car Id rock but probably not at 200k plus a 25k markup (they offered me MSRP on the spot though and I said negative). If this car falls by the way of the SL expect nice discounts and even trunk and stairstep money (IYKYK). Its a very good looking car and while I cant watch myself drive I could imagine it LOL. As I drove off in my M3 CS on the same road I said to myself; the CS is faster shifting with the CS ZF tune from the factory and just a more enduring car of the roads whether it be good or bad. BMW has this shit down with dampers and springs along with body structure.

I have modded my last 3 G80's exhaust wise but never dropped the primaries as, to your point, rasp city. But I did do the TFL Italy Catback (removes 2nds, and both resonators) and that car sounded really good. The I-6 can be fixed but it requires some modding. The CS also has the titanium rear box so the tonal change is different than a normal G80X Comp.
