Many of the airlines that are officially subsidized by a gov't are much nicer than the US airlines, which are not officially <wink, wink> subsidized.

Consumer wants cheap tickets and cheap tickets come at a cost.

Update to my parents situation. Lufthansa got them business class seats on that Delta flight. So pretty cool there.

Good thing they didnt take the offer to just rebook on a different Lufthansa flight. The strike has extended around the world!

Yeah, strikes are too big in the industry.

Delta is so bad...

Story of my life. When I was young and broke, interest rates were killer high. People with CDs were earning huge interest then. Airline tickets were just not an option for me unless the military was footing the bill. But flying was a lot more comfortable.

Now I have plenty of discretionary income to invest and interest rates are practically non-existent, which is good for those who need loans, but sucks for those trying to invest. And flying, which I can easily afford now, has fallen to the level of mass transit.

I'm a victim of the times.

(Although I'd rather be where I am now than where I was then. )

Yeah, gone are 18% CDs. You can always go stocks, but they are higher than ever and rates are lower than ever.

No where to put money. I'm with you.
