Anyone else waiting on a car at the Preparation Center?

Has anyone received any updates related to the famous missing seat modules? Any idea of the ETA of these parts at the VDC?

Someone on XOutpost.com posted on Monday that 79 2011 X5s that are currently being held at the VDC due to missing seat modules are expected to be finished and released later this week. I'm hoping that the same thing applies to everyone else who is impacted by this issue.

My M3 is on the Don Carlos which left Bremerhaven today and is due in Halifax on May 17th.

Lets see if my car gets held up at port for the seat module or licence plate bracket.

Dude, you still didn't get yours yet? I was SURE it would have been Monday or Tuesday, but still not yet!!

If you don't get a call by Friday you need to demand a full complimentary package when you pick your car up: I'm talking floor mats, umbrella, shirts, a fleece, black grills, EVERYTHING!! hahah maybe not all that.

I hear you. I finally got a note from my dealer and a call from BMW corporate (within an hour of each other) that the car was released yesterday (but with no explanation why) so it should be in town this weekend. So, God willing, Monday or Tuesday will be the day.

I hope this misadventure just makes me love the car all the more...now if I can just the get the ADV wheels here quickly...

Well looks like the preparation center is still having problems. My car arrived on the east coast on May 8. It was expected to be at the dealer on May 16. Today I hear that the car is still at the prep center waiting for a front license plate bracket. Dealer tried to get it released without the bracket but prep center said no.

so the bottom line if your car is "completed"say may 19th, you wont see it for another 6 to 8 weeks? great so I wont see my car until July 19th - fuck me

I have the same issue. Sitting in the prep center in Jersey. And, now we have another ash cloud to deal with.

Is anyone waiting for a front bracket at the VDC in NJ a European Delivery re-delivery vehicle?

The reason I ask is because when I took ED of my M the Delivery Specialist at Welt and the employee at the HARMS drop-off in Munich both told me to take the painted front license plate bracket back with me on the plane and not to leave it in the trunk.

Mine is in Jersey awaiting a "Seat Module", whatever that is. Supposed to be at the dealer today but it doesn't look like it.

Next Monday through Thursday I have to go on a business trip. I was hoping to get my car before then so I could burn through a good portion of those 1200 miles (we are all driving there). With my luck I'll get the call on Monday as I am driving away and it will burn me up the whole week :P

The front bracket was in my trunk--but the SA said M brackets are all painted to match, so perhaps that is some of the different delay.

Don't feel too bad, mine was in the U.S. a month before it was delivered. I took it three days later to have the windows tinted. They broke a window and scratched the outside of the door, so I haven't seen the car since Friday a.m.

God is reminding me it's just a 'thing' I suppose.

Long time lurker, finally coming out of the shadows to vent...Ordered my 2011 E90 M3 in March, been patiently waiting for it to get here. Everything went pretty well, got on a boat almost immediately after production, landed in Baltimore on 5/8, cleared customs on 5/10. Was hoping to get the car last weekend, didn't show up. Now was hoping for this weekend and got the dreaded call - "Waiting for the seat module, not expecting it to get here until the end of the month". I want my car!!!!!

Earlier in the thread someone had the bulletin from BMW. It had something to do with defective power seat controls

Are you serious? Gah that really sucks. I was thinking I was moments away from my car. Now I guess I won't even get it before memorial day weekend (4 day for me)

edit: Mine got offloaded in New York on the 12th.

what really irritates me about this is that it looks like there has been problems for at least six weeks. cars arriving now are having the same problems as cars that arrived in early april. what the hell . also there is no timeline for delivery. so we have to sit and wait everyday while our cars just collect dust at the prep center.

Hopefully this won't happen to me since I took Euro delivery. Build was the week of April 18 (wk 16), and I took delivery on May 4.

1. Both license plate brackets (front & back) are sitting in my garage becuase they flew back with me.
2. My seat worked just fine for 9 days and 1,165 miles.

All M3's that were produced in the latter half of April were shipped without the module to control the power seats. This is why all your M3's arrived extremely early. I have been in contact with the port and they are working on this. Please be patient as they will be released soon (according to the email I received).


There is absolutely no issue with the cars.

I just got off the phone with the sales manager from my dealer and his system shows there is a port campaign for my car but it doesn't say what the campaign is for (I'd assume it is for the seat module).

Lets see how long it will take before the car is released.

Thanks for the update. Turnersville is my dealership Do we have any kind of timeline on the "released soon"? Just wondering because I have to make some plans for next week by tomorrow and these plans are contingent on whether I get the car or not. If you don't have any additional information I understand. Thanks!
