I actually have an M850… it did amazing at Mission. As you know it’s a tight technical track but of all the fat cars I have taken there the M850 performed the best, hands down (I’ve had e60 and e39 M5’s, 2x C63’s, various other light M’s, w212 E63, 06’ 335is)
Yeah, it’s funny how everyone thinks their M3 is soooo much more nimble than the M8 or 8 series but they give up so much for an unstable car. Prove me wrong M3 drivers.

Yea I’m not too worried about the rain, Im just preparing myself for winter as Vancouver does get the occasional 10-20cm of snow from Dec-March

Whatever winter tire you put on, it will suck on anything slick.

I haven't checked size availability but these look interesting: https://www.evo.co.uk/tyre-reviews/2...michelin-pilot

Just has a quick read through and on the face of it looks like a positive review. For me though, the limits of lateral grip that this seems to focus on aren’t all too relevant for the road. I chose the Evo3 based on its wet grip and very short wet braking distance vs. the competition (and comfort) as on British roads this is arguably one of the most important factors to consider. Never had Vredestein tyres before so I can’t comment, but had Hankook on a few other cars and they also make a lot of BMW’s OEM tyres now.

Another one I considered were Falken Azenis FK520 that have even better reviews now than the Evo3, so one to look at too.

So a quick update. Ive now replaced my runflat asymmetric 5,s with non runflats in the form of Michelin pilot sport 4S all in 20 inch.
Even though the ps4s does not have much of a sidewall, the difference in ride quality is staggering. Much smoother ride and much less noise.
They were not available in star/bmw rated. I don't think bmw ever star rated these sizes so not available, although im not bothered and very pleased with my purchase.

Have you tried the DWS06+ in the snow at all? Im not expecting going thru 1 feet of snow but 1-2in of snow you think it'd be ok?
I live in the Southern US so snow is something I didnt have to consider. I have driven thru some heavy rainstorms and a few times with a little bit of ice on the road and they handled that about as well as any tire I've ever had.

Did the same this week. I think your assessment is spot-on. And the superior handling is something else, as well. Now, if I could just get better at spotting potholes…

Does the car automatically adjust for the different tire diameter in terms of speedometer and odometer readings?

I don’t believe it does but it’s not really a concern. It’s off my 2 mph at 65 mph.
