Remote Engine Start working again. OTA is 03/2023.67. There is a disclaimer that I’ve now noticed that states Remote Engine Start could be set to default which is off.

Yes, I reported this on the thread specifically discussing the steering wheel driver profile memory. With 07/2023.33 it has been rock solid for the past month on every drive.

I used it a bunch including DAP Plus in direct sunlight last week and it worked flawlessly. I'd also add for DAP the 11/2022 included refined lane change assistance while in DAP and I can confirm it is a significant improvement over the past which was overly aggressive. Of course that is rolled into 03/2023 and 07/2023 if skipping to those from 03/2022 or earlier.

Excellent and that is the case with all OTAs plus wiping custom coding and losing any Drive Recorder videos (you can back them up to a thumb drive if desired before applying the OTA) along with it going back to the default settings so I always increase the record time to the max once again.

I’ve experienced all the German premium brands’ navigation and I think BMWs is second to none. And I prefer it to Google, Apple and Waze as well. She’ll take me anywhere on first try with voice commands. And my very favorite thing about iDrive is that I can have phone in Apple Car Play for music and still use iDrive navigation. In Audi for example, that is not the case and very irritating to me. Plus iDrive is a beautiful interface! I’m sure MBs new one is really good too (previously I had Comand), at least it seems to be based on reviews, but I’m not a fan that their screen is portrait rather than landscape.

Yea, law enforcement is what I'm mostly interested in as well. I haven't tried the JBV1. I'll look into that

Also, did it auto take you to that cardiologist assuming it knew what you wanted or did it at least give you an option of several cardiologist addresses?
JBV1 is Android only although the iOS crowd has been begging for a release from the developer. I used it in active mode tied to my V1G2 and of course take advantage of the Waze data, red light speed camera data, CAS while in CA, etc.

For NAV 98% of the time I use BMWs as it is very accurate plus I can pre-load the destination to the car from the MyBMW app. The 2% is when it somehow fails and then it's Google Maps for the final accurate destination.

If the dealer has 07/2023.33, why BMW did not release it to the general public. I checked this evening for this update but I was told system is up to date! I wonder when they will release this OTA...

Unfortunately for me the steering wheel issue presented itself again today. Dealer tells me next step is to replace the control module. Yippee.

OTAs are at least 4 months behind GA release for new builds. So generally in November or even as late as next January 07/2023 will be pushed as an OTA.

Keep the faith. We shall keep in touch regarding this gremlin. There has to be a fix. Hopefully it gets figured out before my lease ends in 2025. Lol

Definitely try JBV1. Do a Google search on setting it up in standalone mode. Also be sure in settings to occasionally click the Downloads option and update all databases. It's really a slick app.

After you check out my links, let me know if you get multiple Arby's and I'll send my multiple cardiologist friends to talk you out of their sandwiches. Lol.

I deleted my history based on those links, but I'm not sure that will fix the problem. I'm going to post the question on the Waze reddit page and see what they say.

I've done upgrades many times but now my M8 stuck in 'transferring' stage for many days. Doing annual maintenance tomorrow and will let dealer to deal with that. Very annoying process by BMW comparing with Tesla's easy and painless upgrades while car in the garage.

1 - Park on even surface
2 - Engine cool
3 - Hooked up to battery charger
4 - Put vehicle in "diagnostic mode"
5 - Start update in car

Works EVERY TIME.

Interesting, I want to try.
How do you put car in 'diagnostic mode' ?
Do I need to keep my cell phone in the car?

The update is a three step process: (no need to be in diagnostic mode)

1. Search for new update and download on your phone for quicker download speed as it will take much more time in the vehicle.
2. Once download is completed on your phone, you will be asked to place the phone on the wireless pad and drive for the update to be downloaded to the vehicle.
3. Once the update completes downloading to the vehicle, you will be asked to park the vehicle for ˜20 minutes for the update to be completed.

Keep your fingers crossed while the update is completing that non of the features such as gesture controls, radio controls would stop working as it happened to me with two updates and it took several days for these features to work again. Good Luck!

done this many times on different BMW cars but this time it stalled on step 2: transferring to car from phone, so i was wondering about another way to install.

Same here. Upgraded my X3 but the eight won't do it for some reason.

so I had annual oil change and dealer installed 03/2023/67 which stalled before during my OTA attempt. Got typical warning about resetting to the default values for remote engine start, DAS etc..
At least I don't have this annoying message 'remote software available' anymore.
