Peruvian food tonight. Honestly, after a few shots of Pisco, aka Peruvian Brandy, I totally forgot to take pics. Okay, more than a few.

Tacu Tacu steak, Churrasco verde con tallarin, aji de gallina and dulce de leche cheesecake for dessert.

Pisco sours is how it started, but then the owner kept bringing complimentary shots to the table.

I haven't heard anyone use the term "bed lunch" since my grandmother passed away in 2000. It brings back memories .

Both my parents came from very poor families from Ireland and Scotland before being shipped unaccompanied to Canada as infants shortly after the War.

My Mum used to say that a child should never go to bed hungry. It didn't matter what it was. Crackers and cheese, toast and PB, cereals...etc. The routine stayed with me. When I visited her last week-end she had a tray by my bedside. Mums...

Yup, there was always something to eat before bed at my grandparents house, often crackers and cheese. My grandfather loved his cheddar cheese. He never ate many crackers but you had to be quick if you wanted cheese. You didn't dare say no either.
