while you cannot turn up the engine for quali, you can turn it down during the race. there are different strat modes on the car.

eg you can change boost (and battery behaviour) under different strat modes. race mode, overtake mode (also called defend mode), i'm winning (or losing) by a lot i want to save my engine mode, rain mode, recharge the batteries mode, for example
