Also, I can open/close the trunk with the door mounted switch with no coding whatsoever as I've done that several times already. Granted I have a 2020 M850i but can't see that being a factor against the 2019s as this is base functionality.
Bloozeman, I stand corrected...my 2019 will open/close the windows/door locks with the key fob, but only open the trunk as you described. Same for the door mounted trunk switch... Thanks
if you code it, you can touch or pull the button either way with a short throw and it's open.

also the keys can open and close it. works on display key and regular fob.

Is there a thread somewhere that tells me the differences I get by having the laser headlights coded on a 2019 M850i? My Merc has the laser lights and they're pretty amazing.

Thanks!

OK Ben is sounding a bit like a superhero. Will do.

my car was recently updated (in the last month) by the dealership, so assuming I have the most recent version of OS, will the current version of Bimmercode app allow me to do much?

The CARLY app still won't code much of anything because of the update.

I suggest giving Ben a call r33_RGSport with a laptop and obd cable.

alternatively, yes bimmercode will work.

carly doesn't work.

For those who want to be a little more self sufficient. I purchased BimmerCode for my iPhone, and I purchased one of the Bluetooth adaptors recommended by the company.

There are plenty of options in the GUI that let you make a number of changes to your car, that said sometimes you need to use "expert mode" to do the really cool stuff.

Here's what I've coded in my car so far using Expert Mode. There's a search bar at the top if you pull the screen down that lets you find each of these options.

Instrument Cluster & HUD:
  • Instrument Cluster Theme: (I changed mine to Alpina)
    • GLOBAL_LAYOUT_VARIENTE = alpina
    • ALPINA_ENABLE = nicht_aktiv
    • LOGO_SCHRIFTZUG = keine (remove Alpina, or any logo from LCD display)
    • DMZ_ANZ_Y = benzin_bmw_alpina
    • DMZ_EFF_X = benzin_bmw_alpina
  • Fix Instrument Cluster Dimming Due to Window Tint (Disables Auto Dimming)
    • DIM_TAG_NACHT_LICHT_EIN_ENABLE = aktiv
    • DIM_DTN = 0x7F (from 0x3F)
  • Assisted Driving View: (For 2019 models, one of those things BMW should have enabled on their own)
    • CB_FZG_UMGEBUNG_FAS: aktiv (01)
    • CB_PRESELECT_NAVI_ANSICHT_FZG_UMGEBUNG: aktiv (01)
    • PIA_FZG_UMGEBUNG_FAS: aktiv (01)
    • SICHT_ABSICHT_ENABLE: aktiv (01)
  • HUD Updates:
    • CB_HUD_FAS: aktiv [01]
    • CB_HUD_LIST_AUS: aktiv [01]
    • CB_HUD_LIST_AUTOMATISCH: aktiv [01]
    • CB_HUD_LIST_SPORT_AUS: aktiv [01]
    • CB_HUD_LIST_SPORT_FES: aktiv [01]
  • NOTE: I'm trying to remove or change the Alpina exit animation from the instrument cluster.

BMW is making their software more & more proprietary. I had a 2018 440ix (stage 1 tune, sleeper fast) that was amazing on iDrive 6.
A pair of 2020’s w/ 60%-70% of what I could configure, a ‘22 with half that. BMW’s were unstealable in the 2000’s, they’re trying to do that with iDrive. Crazy locked down OS now.
I download BimmerCode (free, but I have a $35 license) and run the demo mode before buying a new bmw. Very disappointed for the limitation's on the M850 right now. Ability to edit the ‘convenience/comfort’ settings are a must.
