Hi bimmer fam, I’m new on the site, does anyone know the cabin air filter location in an m850i. Was looking under the glove box and didn’t find any indicator of a cabin air filter being there.

Did you pop the access panel off under the glove box? Typically they are under that like this one

FYI there are two cabin filter versions. One is an advanced one with carbon. Might be placebo but went with that version and seems good at filtering the air from outside a bit better.

Did you end up having to disconnect the negative battery terminal for the process of swapping the cabin filters?

Yes. Engine air filters and cabin air filter are part of covered maintenance.
