Exhaust nerf question
Just purchased a 2019 M850i convertible that I am absolutely in love with. I particularly love the Sport Plus mode with all the pops and gurgles out of the exhaust, and making that a toggleable option is incredible.
That being said, I’m being prompted to update the software to 03/2023.50 and am concerned about the exhaust nerf. I believe my car is already on some version of 2022 software, which should have already received the nerf previously, correct? It doesn’t kill the sounds on Sport Plus mode entirely, just reduces them? Just trying to make sure I don’t lose that benefit of Sport mode entirely when I update my SW. |

lol so true, we should have had them post a sticky in regards to the updates and what they did each time. So many now I'm lost with them and have skipped the last two..

Then no issues as that version already includes the exhaust gate nerf. So going to the later version won't touch your exhaust. You'd need to be on 11/2019.60 (or older) to truly hear the exhaust to its full potential. The 2019s even burbled/gurgled in Comfort. 👍

How do you guys know what is real exhaust sound vs fake? Unless you have coded ASD off completely? Or do you hear it because the top is down?
I have ASD on reduced in my coupe. To me the cold engine start is average sounding at best (not nearly as deep or as loud as I would like), but when driving more agessively, the sound is mostly very good but I suspiciously think it’s all ASD because sometimes it sounds artificial. I do not think that I hear the pops and gurgles that everyone talks about. |
