Because sometimes it's just fun to change things a bit, they're only cars after all.

I never cared what another man does with his property.

I harshly judge and make fun of those people.

One of my friends put M stripes off Amazon onto his wife's base X5. It looks cheap and tacky. He didn't take it well when I told him my opinion loll.

Badges are by definition superfluous in themselves. Debadging would be... a remedy.

Modifying cars is fun. Maybe not for the OP; I'm sure there are activities otherwise engaged which are considered odd by others, but important to you for ineffable reasons. I doubt it has anything to do with age.

My coworker as an old Kia wagon thing with a Mercedes emblem on the front. He says he did for fun and calls his car a Benz. It's a big joke around the office.

My favorite is seeing a beater Honda Civic or Accord with GT-R emblems on the back.

I can't say I haven't made poor cosmetic choices though. Long ago I thought washer fluid nozzle lights and true neon underbody were the shizz. Installed those on all my cars. These were the hay days of The Fast and The Furious so chalk it up to that.

I don't see too much awful stuff anymore. I throw out that I think the Carolina squat is stupid but to each his own. I'm more concerned about pedestrians and that bumper angle, along with headlights that illuminate the sky rather than the road. No way people have good visibility in those things. There is a late 90's mustang in my area that drives around lifted on 34" chrome blades.

People are weird...but so am I

Garage List
I miss the old days, the smallest mods meant the most, I swear. I would change the aerial, tyre valve caps, de-badge and feel like I made the car mine

Me and my friends used to mod our cars, we would do anything to save weight, air-con? Don't need that. Back seats? Out. You name it, then we would go for our drives and see what differences our mods made to our little beat-up Hondas and Fords We were young (17-18) and innocent but boy was it fun being carefree, spending time together in Summer just playing with our cars, to us they meant the world.

It's not the same with these expensive cars, it changes everything, and it all becomes so serious.

I'm old now (Just turned 29), but I see the youngsters doing the same now and always have a smile, I know we might have been annoying but hell, we weren't causing trouble, doing drugs or stabbing anyone that means something in today's world.

Nothing wrong with debadged vehicles.
What gets me are the ridiculous colored stripes that people put in their grill.

I've seen a Camry with 8 exhaust pipes and 4 spoilers just to name a few things "on" it. Nothing surprises me anymore.

I couldn't find my dashcam footage of it anymore but I assume I wasn't hallucinating.

I think they look far better than Altezza/IS style taillights on the first gen Twins.
