Since OP seems to have this sorted...can someone walk through the rationale for getting a beater car when you already have a beater car?

Are you suggesting that an M3cs is a beater or did I miss something elsewhere in the thread? 😂

because its cheaper to run a beater to and from work if you drive alot. who doesn't like money ? and most modern beaters made past 2010 are more comfy than an M3, better on gas, cheaper to insure, less depreciation, you can drive more care free since you don't care about hail, rock chips, road debris, being targeted by police.

Not sure if you're serious or not… but where I come from, a beater is like a 10-15k car MAX, not a 80-100k car. Maybe it is different in other countries though.

Exactly, it's just easier to have a third car on hand for my mental state. Two kids aside, it just helps in instances when I need to pick up miscellaneous crap like mulch, lumber, whatever.

There's always at least one guy that puffs out their chest in these threads and goes "but the M3 IS my beater car". You just have to laugh and not pay them any mind.

@OP, I think you made the right decision with the Fit. That thing will likely outlive all of us.

Fit, hands down. Honda has been building these no frills city cars forever. Funny you should mention them I was just on C-list looking for one for a cheap commuter. Granted I am looking for an older version like a 10-13 series.
