Would love to hear the exhaust!
So great question. The H&R is just about the same drop (using M550i springs of all parts). H&R doesnt even have a specific F93 part yet. From a ride and performance perspective the KW's are miles ahead when I do an unequal comparison of the M550i springs on my F90 to this. That classic BMW M absorption is back. It could be also that the dampers are better tuned but I do know H&R is a two stage spring and KW is progressive in nature.

From those pics, it looks just a bit high but when Im on level ground in the garage it looks lower. Ill shoot a few more.

Here is the exhaust mod done on an F90 (just pulled the resonator) but not my car and the video is a bit weak. But its fairly close:

The mods definitely enhance the look of the car and while I agree that it could be a bit lower (same as ours) it does look really well proportioned.
Think this is due to the fact that the M8 is already a whole 3 inches lower than the M5...

Do you find the performance on par with your Ed1 M5 or?
Wolfgang, thanks so much. You are 100% correct about the chassis stance, the M8's start lower regardless of the wheel gap.

Its hard for me to remember what the F90 was like stock but both cars have the RC in and I "feel" the F93 might be just a little quicker. It does have a different map based off higher boost limits of the CE. Driving wise its a more confident ride with the extended length, better dampers, steering connection, and the KW's vs the H&R's. The F90 is a little more nimble but then again whats really nimble about 4400 lbs. The F93 just cruises on the express way with no drama at speeds well over 120 mph. I hit 157 mph the other day uphill and it came in no time. The stability was incredible. And as you know I have other rides that can complete my carving/handling needs in different manners.

Yes- they are part of one California's National Forests where I live. We were victims of those raging Orange County fires a few years back and I almost lost my home- 11 houses away from that fire when the wind turned for the better. We have not had much rain either this season into December.

Congrats! What a beautiful beast and it’s black! I think it would look spectacular with Xpel Stealth on top. If not a secret, how much did you pay?

Absolutely stunning car, the new brakes go very well with the interior.

While the M5 is a more house hold name, I genuinely think the F93 is the best looking BMW has made in 10 years. The rear 3/4 angle is unbeatable.

My HQ is in San Diego and have friends scattered across CA who like you came perilously close to losing their homes...really glad yours stayed safe too. We came close to buying a CA home on a vineyard a few years back and the drought scared us off worried about the extra irrigation costs, in hindsight still wish we did. Here in S FL the hurricanes are no picnic either and we've survived our fair share, the uber humidity is something we can also live w/o. The taxation or lack thereof is a big plus however, although 2021 may be our last year in FL and will be heading west, maybe Aspen.

Congrats Vic! Love the yellow brake calipers. My last Beemer was black and I said never again....you just need the cleaning genie to clean it up for you at end of day.

I appreciate that... yes FL is brilliant for income taxes or lack of it. I used to go about 15 times a year for business pre covid. But it was always nice to come home to Cali, although now the fires seem to torture so many each and every year.

Absolutely stunning and dig the yellow brake calipers as they are a great contrast! How is the seating with the Midrand Beige/Alcantara Cloth? I'm assuming BMW will add the Midrange Beige/Alcantara to the 2022 M8C coupes as well but right now it is a M8C GC exclusive. Midrand Beige/Black leather is on the potential shortlist for a M8C coupe in 2022 depending on my exterior color so curious as to your take on it as just not sure how well the Alcantara will wear in the seats vs leather.

Great add to the stable and enjoy the drive!

I will say after some minor mods the car really is good visually. From a driving perspective, it moves well and handles great for car with such heft and length. As Ive read, its the widest BMW of all cars they make. Its a nice offset to the F90 M5 I had (sold it) with its much longer frame and wheelbase. The stability is there no doubt but so is the ever so slight change in handling. I did use the KW HAS system this time which is a dramatic improvement over the M550i H&R springs I lowered my F90 on. The compression and rebound brings back fond memories of my first M- the E39 M5. It soaks up the undulations much better while also giving a visual change for the better IMHO.

Here are the minor mods and nothing bold but just minor things to change it up.

r33_RGSport Ben is just great- favorable pricing, service, and he is just a good guy always willing to accommodate. He moved his schedule around to do this plus made numerous adjustments to ensure the drop was good. KW for some odd reason doesnt allow a much more pronounced drop on the F93. Its fine but I could use a few more mm's.

KW HAS- maxed out but still just a bit high for me but Ill live
Reflectors front and rear- wrapped with gloss vinyl (quick fix)
H&R Spacers- 18mm Front, 12mm Rear
Race Chip- took from my F90 M5 and reprogrammed for the CE F93

supremepower Eric, Kim, Will- what can I say as Ive been going to Eric since 2001 for all things from aesthetics to power gains. He most recently did my R8 with exhaust and drop as well. His spacers have become my go to for so many cars (over 20) but he was out of the 18mm and Ben had them in stock. I called him Tuesday and he too made scheduling changes so I could drop off the car Wednesday and pick it up Friday. Service, Pricing, and utter convenience. He is my main mod guy.

Caliper Painting- I just went off the deep end here since red is now OEM. He even smoothed out the rears which have so much orange peel. I think yellow on black is rather cool.

Wheel Powder Coating- we went with gloss since the car is so glossy in general. I really like the "nasty" look here even though some will say black is played out. I am happy.

Other stuff done by randoms:

Exhaust- I had the center resonator pulled- I gained alot of decibels and just more sound which I wanted. A simple job that is easily reversed. If you are in the OC- see the Muffler Man in Placentia.

Tint- some cool guy came to my house- 35% ceramic

Cell phone pics:

Shit Sun Pic

Muuuuuch better now!

Congrats, bud. Hopefully the accolades I've preached held true for you.

I was dead set on getting another F90 once my current 19 lease is up but threads like this lead me back to considering the M8 GC again. I need to spend more time looking at one in person. Thanks for the great contribution Vic!

Thank you sir!

So I have many alcantara set ups (full and partial) over my car acquisition life but this is the first via BWM. To me, the quality is great and location of the alcantara is situated well for durability. I do feel its the shape of ones body that will truly determine the seat wear. My body is not of the buffet shape variant so Ive yet to see the excessive wear in the history of my ownership of these cars. Even in cars I kept for over 3 years which was the 2007 Turbo with full alcantara. This car has it in the areas where bolstering occurs along with the side thigh area but the material is well put together and I dont see a long term issue.

You got this!!

Hey the F90 is amazing and I held on to mine for over 2 years which says immense things. I love to dump cars but the F90 engine and power delivery kept me coming back. So to have this opportunity with an F93 which looks different and keep that power plant; I said why not.

The length, not the added weight (limited), scared me but its easily overcome unless all you do is drive canyons. But even then its a great car for that compared to others in its segment.

Yellow turned out VERY cool! I've been wanting to do something with the M badges on my wheels. Did you leave that little square empty or blacken them?
