M8 Comp Coupe lease

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone can give input on this lease deal?

M8 Competition 2-door coupe (in showroom)
MSRP 158K

~10K off sticker + they are picking up my remaining lease payments on an M4 ($950 x 4 = $3800)

12k miles/yr, 3 year term.

-Should I push for more? There doesn't seem to be a lot of M8 sales so I'm not sure what to reference

Check leasehackr.com. I recommend to hire a broker there. I got 23% off on a M850i.

Easy to do that on a 2019 M850. 2020 M8? Not so much. It's a new car, don't expect awesome support from the manufacturer yet.

9% off right now (his discount + remaining payments) is good right now on one of these.

I don’t think local dealers have sold a single M8 yet in a couple of months.
$15k plus loyalty...

You really have to shop around. There are smaller dealers giving huge discounts on M8. There is a 7k dealer spif from Bmw and loyalty is 3k. That's immediately 10k and I found a couple dealers doing much much more than 10k. 15% off with two of them. I see M8 already piling up at dealers unsold.

I heard that in January the extra spif is going way and residuals are getting worse for January. Make your deal before Jan 2 if you can

I agree similar deals on the HEA cars. In Michigan it said $5000 off for HEA plus loyalty plus whatever you negotiate which should easily be 4% without trying. On average I am seeing $15k but some have received $20k especially high volume areas where the regional market rebate from BMW can be $10k. They are selling, usually special order cars. The HEA cars will sell but with $15-20k off.

Is this just the dealer telling you that now is the time to buy
I am looking at the HEA coupe for $20k off. Can’t take advantage of the loyalty credit unfortunately.
$40k off a 2019 AMG GT63s makes puts both cars in the same price bracket except that the M8 has significantly better lease terms.
Am torn as the AMG feels a bit more special to me and I have pull ahead on the AMG.

I have yet to drive the M8 but assume it is somewhat similar to the M5 comp.
On the other hand, the M850’s are a bargain. The lease will be $700 plus less a month. Wonder if that difference can’t be bridged by a tune?

I drove around the M8C today that my dealer has. Overall impressed, but the colors for me... not feeling it so much.

What can I expect if I order one? Too far to ask for the same 9% being the end of year?

The dealer is not telling me it was someone else. I would go for amg gt sedan, far more special feeling imo and you get more HP than E63S unlike M8/M5 same body diff skin

I test drove a convertible today too. Don't really like the red color so working with SA on what a deal for one ordered to my spec. I asked for the 9% (multiple repeat customer + many referred clients). We'll see....

Man at that price I might even jump for the AMG but our dealers here are awful, worse in the country. You have to buy what makes you happy, what you enjoy driving for the next few years.

Agreed!

Issue is that neither fits my preference 100%

We already have a well-spec'd E63s so the GT63s feels like a lateral move. With the Magno paint, CF and CCB's that car will be above $200k vs the $136k for the current car. The MY19 is $178k but is more barebone than ours.
Even at great discounts I have issues justifying the difference. A simple tune will make our car quicker and faster.
We also have an AMG GTC roadster which drives better than both of them. RWD but 1000lbs less and the engine behind the front axle makes these cars a hoot to drive. But it sits in the garage for 4 months plus a year due to weather.

My personal preference was actually to try an EV and go for a Taycan but Porsche seems to not want to lease these cars at all.
Numbers are not firm but dealer info was eye watering (36/15 Turbo S RV at 37% at .0030).

The M8 is not ideal either (no CCB) but I like the Ivory White/Tartufo and the car will ride much softer than the AMG's. Wife will like that

M8GC retail launch is going to be January. It all depends on the initial demand. There's nothing wrong with asking 9%, but I think initially you should be able to get 6%.

Honestly I would wait until summer, wait for initial demand to drop, I think you'd find some awesome deals then.

If the market you're in has plenty of BMW dealers (aka competition) 6% should be doable. Here in AZ with just two out of 3 dealers playing in the M space 4% was the best I could do on a custom order (plus a $2500 non-refundable deposit that is enforceable in AZ vs CA and other states).

Completely agree on waiting until at least mid-year for the initial demand to drop and getting a much better deal.

Post M8/M8 Gran Coupe lease deals

I've taken a look for a lease deals thread but nothing turned up. If I've missed something and there is one, please feel free to point me toward it and I'll redirect this thread there.

If not, what are folks seeing wrt/ lease deals? For me, I'm specifically interested in the M8 GC Comp but awareness across the entire M8 range would be useful to me and no doubt to 100s of others soon to be looking at this beauty.

Thanks!
