I wouldn't hesitate to call them back and let them know what happened.

Now I'll preface this by saying I'm no "BMW Fanboy." In fact, unless something changes over the next 3-4 years, I'm almost certainly on the way out with my next vehicle purchase. With that said, you go out of your way to make the point that Mercedez-Benz is the most powerful luxury car brand in the world (over BMW, as Number 2). Just out of curiosity, what are you basing this on...? As of November 2013, the Forbes ongoing "World's Most Valuable Brands" list ranks BMW as #11 to Mercedes-Benz at #16. Additionally, as of July (can't find figures more recent than 4 months ago), BMW had a commanding lead in both numbers of vehicles sold and in sales revenue: http://europe.autonews.com/article/2...#axzz2lalo9fmd In fact, the only way in which I can find Mercedes-Benz "ahead" of BMW in any significant metric of being a "powerful luxury car brand" is if we look only at United States sales... |

BMW is #12. That is what I was referring to. And these are "world" rankings. http://www.businessinsider.com/these...rcedes-benz-10 You must've missed the 2013 Business Insider rankings.

The Forbes data I cited is current to this month, and global data (which that 2 month old Business Insider data is as well--not arguing about that). At any rate, probably splitting hairs about which brand is "more powerful" right now, but to go out of the way to distinguish Mercedes as number 1 over BMW seems a misplaced sentiment--especially considering the most current Forbes data shows BMW in a statistically significant lead over Mercedes globally. |

If that much can change in two months, how can you confidently distinguish BMW as number 1 over Mercedes? And I think you severely misinterpreted my post. At no point did I imply that MB's advantage was overwhelming. You really extrapolated a lot from a few sentences and made this a much more clinical exercise than it needed to be, in my opinion.

So, seems that there are quite a few CLA45 in the area. Hopefully I can test drive this tomorrow.

I'm on the fence as to whether or not I want to put my order through for one and wait until the second year production of the M4. The way mine was spec'd came to $53k. Not bad. Need to test drive and get a better feel for the car first.

So, got to see it!
The car itself was awesome. Unfortunately, due to its 70k price point, they aint letting nobody drive that (it was inside the dealership). The guy was nice enough to turn it on! It has the performance exhaust which was amazing. The exhaust itself was awesome. Lots of gurggles and pops. The engine itself did not have much character, sounded like any other 4 cylinder turbo, but with the exhaust it was not bad! The brakes look enormous! My favorite part had to be in the interior. What a beauty. It had every package possible, and the entire inside was covered in leather. Not only that, but it had the leather recaros. They were awesome and very comfy. Problem being, the car I sat in is nowhere near the car I would be able to afford. I sat in a base CLA (which is same interior as the CLA45 unless you get the fancy leather), and it was plastic galore . That being said, didn't get to drive it, so can't say anything about that. But the car is definitely a looker!! Gorgeous! Exterior wise, my favorite was the carbon fiber front splitter, rear, and side, along with the carbon fiber mirror caps. Also, backseat is not as bad as people make it out to be. I am 6 feet, and while my head barely touched the roof, I had no issues with leg space. That being said, I fit snugly in the rear of my 128i as well so >_>

Was this car absolutely fully loaded? Was there a dealer markup? There have been reports of dealers slapping on an extra $10k to the price tag.

No dealer markup, fully loaded! Owner backed out in last minute, now they are trying to find a buyer.

Thanks for posting! To be honest, I'd be a bit embarrassed to say I spent $70k on that. It's not bad looking but I have a hard time with a $70k version of a $29k car..

Charging 70k for that?? I'm sorry, nothing can justify that price for what is supposed to be their entry level performance sedan. What a joke

The fact that it is at all possible to buy a 70k CLA makes me cringe. Repeat it to yourself, "$70K CLA" when you could get a used CLK Black Series for not much more.

I just built one for fun this AM. Sales tax takes it close to $100k. For a 3-Series. Yikes.

$50k is not happening. Unless you want a Mercedes with no options what so ever.
How you could own this car without P1 and Multimedia packages is beyond me. Those two alone are just $4,500. That is not including some other must haves. Out the door, with decent options it is an easy $60k. |
