Has anyone swapped out their aluminum steering wheel trim for Carbon Fiber?

Yeah I did it on my F90 and plan on doing it on my F93, but it is pretty straight forward assuming you are comfortable with modding/handiwork.

At a high-level, you disconnect battery, remove airbag, remove paddles, unplug some connectors and take out old trim and then do everything in reverse.

I will post a YT link that I referred to in the past for your information.

Look forward to seeing the link as I too have plans along this line.

I was heavily debating it, and after reading more I chickened out from the thought the airbags nuking me. I ended up going with adhesive carbon fiber trim (i’ll attach some photos). It came out much better than I expected, I thought they would protrude.

Flash forward to last week-I ended up getting magnetic paddle shifters and did pretty much the same steps as removing the trim, with the exception of a few bolts and plugs. Honestly not as bad as I expected, just make sure you disconnect the battery and wait 5-10 minutes to ensure there’s no residual power.

Here's the link to the YT video that I used in the past for my F90, the process is the same for the F93:

Hope it helps, let me know if anyone has any other questions or wants more video links.

"Aluminum" can be painted. U668 relates perfectly to everything glossy black.
