Anyone else notice that the option to activate steering wheel heating seems to have gone (or moved) after the software update to 11/2020.50?

My car just did this update this week, and this option seems to have gone.

Am I missing something?

mine was updated to 03/2021.25 (from 07/2020.54) last week and noticed it not there too!
Thought i was losing it trying to find it!

Strange that you were updated to the 2021 build and I just got the 11/2020...

Maybe just moved? I definitely have it working in both cars and they're both running 11/2020. I've always thought it to be odd that ID7 had this in both the climate settings and the separate auto climate control app, seemed to just be two different ways to get into the same menu, but maybe they are starting to diverge.

I could check the version numbers in both and see if there are any differences in the two menus on either this evening if you still can't see anything, but I suppose regional differences might come into play as well.

I only have ever had auto seat heating rule below XX temp. Never had steering wheel option even though I have a heated wheel.

2020MY (built November 2019) running 11/2020.42 - and didn't have it on the 11/2019 version either

Yet our 2020 Z4 running same software has it and has had it since day 1. Odd.

My drive recorder went away for 2 weeks then came back all of a sudden. The icon was there but grayed out and couldn't access it.

Automatic windows have come, gone, and come Back again.

I figure it's all on the back end - not necessarily with the car itself. I'm not sure they were ready to be doing everything from the cloud...

Can you send the full menu path?
I was familiar with this before, but now I am on 11/2020.50, I am sure it is not there anymore.

I have found where you set the auto settings for seat heat and seat ventilation, but no steering wheel heating.

No, I just locate this setting when in the car in the following way:

Sure. As said mine is on 11/2020.42. In my IDrive menu this is the menu path in order to reach the said setting:

Car Settings - Climate Comfort - RULES FOR AIRCONDITIONING - Press enter

When you land under "Rules for Airconditioning", you will see the automated seat heating options as well as that for the steering wheel heating as you scroll a little bit further down.

It makes no sense to have this under airconditioning imho so it may indeed mislead one and make us assume there is no such option in there....

Nope. Definitely gone now. This is where I was looking previousy, so thanks for confirming, but it seems to be gone in this version.

It is not just a missing screen either. The functionality has definitely switched off too. My seat and steering wheel heat used to come on together when temps were below 10C, but only seat/armrest now. Steering wheel needs to be manually activated.

Same here with 07/2020.60 which BMW will have to pry away from my cold dead hands as there is no way I'm upgrading now as that version has everything including Android Auto. On a side note I read a couple of articles last week regarding the upcoming iDrive 8 to be released initially on the iX and i4. If I don't buy out the lease on the M850i when it is up in December 2021 hopefully it is on the 2022 8-series at that point.

This function is part of the Connected Care Package which has an expiration and must be subscribed to annually for $150.00! There are several other little conveniences that are part of that package also. All the resets in the world won't bring the function back without the subscription.

In Europe it is called "Connected Drive Booster Package" which bring that functionality back. Ex factory it is just enabled for 3 Years, than you have to pay for it. On Wednesday BMW Black Weeks starts, so you get a discount on this package.
