Sounds a tad on the highside (only by 250-150 though), call around a few other dealers for quotes first.

I book in my car for service this 1st of may at rushcutter. I keep asking the service guy, how much it would cost since this my first service. then he cant give me exact answer, all he can say is depends on your car, bla bla bla.
I bought my car oct-2007, and this my 1st service, how much do you think it would cost? the car doing 16k kms at the moment. I would kill myself if it cost $1000. |

I got the car will tell him blah blah blah so around $800 normally from Trivett
Really I don't care what the care thinks it needs I am only keeping this car for another 2 years while it's under warranty. Then i'll get a new one so I only want the stamps in the book so when I go to trade it I don't get the usual crap from the sales guy "has it got a full BMW book" |

you should take your car to the dealer where you bought it from, they usually offer 5% to 10% discount on parts and labour.
the price for an oil change ranges from $400 to $800, eg. brake fluid needs to be changed every 2 yrs regardless of mileage. |

It's condition based servicing so until you get to the dealer and they check your car, they really cant give you an accurate cost. But even at its first service i'd say you will be up for:
Oil and filter Microfilter Air filter Brake fluid change (2 years ?) Whenever I've asked for an extimate over the phone when booking the car in for service, the price quoted is always much higher than the actual bill. I my honest opinion, I think servicing charges (at least while under warrenty) have been quite reasonable at the dealership. |

BMW service is a rip unless your worried about maintaining FSH when you sell. I only have the major inspections done at BMW once per year.
I laughed when the wanted $1490 trade (not retail) for a replacement water pump on my M3 this week, when I can buy the same part out of the US and land it here for about $750. |

Just had a Oil and filter service at BMW dealer on 135i.. Car has 10K Km's cost $196..
So cant see why a 2ltr (320i) should be any more expensive than a 3ltr (135i).. |

You paid $170 for a wash? Firstly, my dealer does it for free but I tell them not to anyway. Secondly, for that sort of money, I hope it was a proper detail job.
