No, same case happened on the E60. They are available as accessories so they should be available at your dealer.

Natureboy-
I totally thought the same thing when i 1st picked up my car. I thought it was interesting that they would use alum knob although the rest of the car is burl. It sucks that if u want everything to match you have to pay more for it. It should be an option, i didnt want alum so why do i have to pay for burl when it was STANDARD.

walnut trim on my car with aluminum steptronic knob and leather handbrake handle.

i don't mind that combo for me as the knob matches the idrive knob and the handle matches my black leather interior.

i understand your questions and dissatisfaction.

Yeah, I also like it like that because it matches the idrive knob. But I may change it in the future...

Even without idrive, I like the combo. The two tone is a constant reminder that my 3 is both sporty and luxurious with the walnut wood trim.

Crevier BMW quoted $116.00 for the Poplar shift knob for the Manual trans. I would assume the Walnut would be the same price. (Ask for Vaheh in the parts dept.)

BMWCCA members save 15% off of that price too!
