GranTurismo, F Type, R8?

I'm trying to help my Dad decide on a car. He is leaning towards the Maserati. Does anyone have any other suggestions or input? I don't think he wants to spend much more than $100k.

Definitely not a GTR. He's 69 years old. I think he would like something more on the exotic end. I don't think he would like the M6.

I do like the idea of an F430, but he does want something with a warranty so that would probably be out.

If I was ok with an auto-box, I'd go with the F-type R Coupe. Absolutely brilliant car.

2015 V8 Vantage GT. Get a manual gearbox and you have yourself the most handsome sports car in the 100k range. I've actually been toying with the idea of buying a used V8 Vantage in the 50k range and adding Vantage GT4 bits to make a track inspired street car (think M3 GTS). New 991 GT3s are way out of budget.

911 or SL550 (LCI is due out soon).

My dad has a '15 SL 550 in the factory matte grey. Probably one of the most comfortable cars I've ever sat in/driven and it has all the bells and whistles. Only seats two, but my mom has an X5, so he doesn't need the space. Car is definitely a looker in the matte color, and the convertible hardtop is one of the best out there. Car performs in a straight line as well (TT V8 with loads of torque and a mostly aluminum body), although it is still a Mercedes and can get squiggly on turns!

V8 Vantage is a solid choice. Only problem is Aston depreciate like crazy, but it's what I would get if depreciation didn't matter.

Hands down an R8. Hardly ever see them and it's exotic looking with an Audi V8. He can definitely find one for under $100K, it'll fit his golf clubs in the back and it can be found with a true manual gearbox.

F-type is sharp, but will go unnoticed next to the R8. Maserati is a sweet ride, but not as much of a sports car as the R8.

911TT would be epic as well.

LOL no the golf clubs won't fit in the R8, the engine is back there. To the OP the F type R doesn't have an engine in the back and golf clubs do fit back there. Google it, I'm not going to attach a photo.

The GranTurismo is comfortable but really feels like a boat to drive (the GTS I tried was, anyway).

F-Type. It's a gorgeous car and considering his age, it won't look like he's trying to relive his youth.

My mom has a F-type couple R and between the looks and the sound (she keeps the baffles open as default because she's cool like that), it gets looks and comments from everyone around. I had the misfortune of being stuck with it for a weekend because my parents were driving to CA with friends and needed my 4-door. I was out one morning and had a guy in a Huracan oogling over the car at a stoplight, asking if the exhaust was stock because it sounds so mad and complimenting the looks. That's how much attention that car gets. I obviously returned both compliments to him.

Any of those cars are great options though.

Out of your choices I'd definitely pick the R8.

I was gonna say the Aston Martin V8 Vantage also over theses choices. Its a beautiful car and is practical. He can fit his golf clubs and is such a head turner

Sorry, but you can get a set of golf clubs behind the seats in an R8.

Seriously? What a colossal pain in the ass that would be. Bet you could put a dog back there, doesn't mean you should.
