Open hood, or remove plastic cover?

Hi All,
New M850i owner here.
Since I have heard about the N63 and its tendency to cook seals and gaskets, does anyone open their hood after driving help it cool down?
How about removing the plastic engine covers?
Thanks!

I open my hood but haven't taken the cover off. I took it off of my F10 M5 but not the 850. I will at some point though because it gets pretty hot here in Phoenix.
